| 3.5 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 5/10 | 4/5 | 6/10 | 4/5 | 16/20 | Sep 21, 2007 Had this beer on 8/20/2001. Aroma is faint but a sweet malt scent can be found. Color is a rich hazy amber with good carbonation and a nice tight head. Taste is malty and smooth. Starting with a rich medium body it goes down smooth with a creamy feel. The finish is nice with a smooth malt flavor and a gentle hint of hops. Its very smooth for an Amber GeneralGao (3057), Iowa City, Iowa, USA
| 3.3 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 7/10 | 3/5 | 7/10 | 3/5 | 13/20 | Sep 10, 2007 Draft at the brewpub. Called 2220 Red Ale. Poured a clear dark orange color. Head was off white and left a bit of lace behind. Aroma was of buttery caramel and vanilla. Slightly sweet on the tongue throughout. Flavor followed the aroma. Almost butterscotchy. Strange amber, but not bad. BillKismet (1938), Seattle, Washington, USA

Medium caramel/crystal malt flavors shine through. Slight metallic finish detracts as do wet sock notes. jimvy (131), O’Fallon, Missouri, USA
| 2.8 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 7/10 | 3/5 | 5/10 | 2/5 | 11/20 | Oct 2, 2006 On tap at Breckenridge Pub 9/28/06. Light copper color, good clarity, thin head that disapated quickly. Aroma - soft maltiness, little to no hops. Light body. Flavor is extremely light, thin...not much flavor. Overall, I can see the value in having something like this available at a pub....some color, but virtually no flavor and extremely thin. But in terms of being a quality beer...it doesn’t qualify. | 1.5 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 4/10 | 1/5 | 3/10 | 2/5 | 5/20 | Dec 8, 2005 Caramel malts and piquant grapefruit citrus hops are almost overwhelmed by butterscotch character in the nose. Hazy, reddish-amber coloured body with a thin, white, fully diminishing head. Sweet caramel and nutty malts with another strong shot of butterscotch in the flavour. Light body is somewhat watery with low carbonation. For a rare moment, willblake and I agree on a beer... now back to your regularly scheduled programming. Sampled on tap as 2220 red ale at the brewpub. willblake (2176), Belcamp, Maryland, USA
| 1 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 1/10 | 3/5 | 1/10 | 2/5 | 3/20 | Oct 8, 2005 09.30.05 Tap at brewpub. Called 2220 Red. Hazed amber with nothing but a whisp of tan head. Aroma is dominated by rancid butter and lettuce. Flavor is quite acetic and nasty. Searching for good flavors lead me to white toast with orange marmalade, something like sugar free cinnamon gum. Really, it was hard to find anything good with this stuff.
