Nov 26, 2004 In the bottle. Very dark. Not so much red, as it was a mahogany or dark reddish brown. Not much of an aroma. Caramel flavor. Mild flavor without a pronounced bitterness. Crisp palate. An excellent beer for a person who wants to practice drinking a darker beer without all that scary flavor.

Dec 3, 2003 (bottle) Aroma malty and slightly musty. Nice red amber color with almost no head. Slightly sweet, earthy malt flavor wiht essentially no hops. Metallic / astringent finish becomes more noticable as beer warms.
