Head is initially average sized, frothy, off-white, mostly diminishing. Body is clear dark amber. Aroma is moderately malty (caramel, toasted light bread), lightly hoppy (flowers), light note of orange. Flavor is moderately sweet, lightly acidic, lightly bitter. Finish is lightly acidic, moderately bitter, husky. Medium body, creamy texture, lively carbonation, metallic. Unpleasant grainy and metallic aftertaste, otherwise acceptable.

dark orange: like the carmelizing goo oozing from baking sweet potatoes. a touch of haze. head is thin; time to consider rogaine or a toupee. nose, meanwhile is an earthy melange: walnut, wort boil, potting soil, moss and some toffee. very smooth on the tongue, some sweetness, a continental breakfast flavor of buttery toast, plum jelly and even a coffee note. smooth becomes watery by bottle’s end, and hops apparently have laryngitis and merely squeek in a discordant way.

Not a shabby red ale. I’m not usually a big fan of this style, but this one is decent. Quite dark, nice malt flavor turns quickly to hops, quite dry finish. Worth a try. (P.S. get the Breckenridge sampler pack)

Dark amber color with a smallish tight head. Caramel malt aroma dominates. Smooth silky mouthfeel. Flavors of caramel and toffee. Dry bitter astringent finish. Definite earth yeasty flavor.

Amber red color, small head. Aroma not anything to write home about. Flavor is nice, but there was something about the immediate aftertaste (nuttiness?) that I didn’t like.

Stand-out color and on-par with Killian’s and the like. In other words an easy drinking and agreeable flavor that you don’t have to think about, just enjoy.
