Jan 26, 2003 Head is initially average sized, frothy, off-white, mostly diminishing. Body is clear dark amber. Aroma is moderately malty (caramel, toasted light bread), lightly hoppy (flowers), light note of orange. Flavor is moderately sweet, lightly acidic, lightly bitter. Finish is lightly acidic, moderately bitter, husky. Medium body, creamy texture, lively carbonation, metallic. Unpleasant grainy and metallic aftertaste, otherwise acceptable.

Dec 8, 2005 Caramel malts and piquant grapefruit citrus hops are almost overwhelmed by butterscotch character in the nose. Hazy, reddish-amber coloured body with a thin, white, fully diminishing head. Sweet caramel and nutty malts with another strong shot of butterscotch in the flavour. Light body is somewhat watery with low carbonation. For a rare moment, willblake and I agree on a beer... now back to your regularly scheduled programming. Sampled on tap as 2220 red ale at the brewpub.
