12 oz bottle
Recent bottling, livered 09/06
Medium pour in a pint glass
Poured a slightly hazy gold with a 1/4 inch fully diminishing rocky white head.
Smelt of flowers, oranges and light grain, and a hint of spice, maybe coriander.
Taste was upfront light sweet orange blossoms, followed by a bitter spice kick and light acidic oranges and sweet flowers, all in an overly short finish. Mouthfeel was light, off-dry, fizzy and slightly metallic.
Overall, a beer that reaches its quaffing goal, nothing more. kramer (2465), Sunbury, Pennsylvania, USA
| 2.4 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 5/10 | 2/5 | 5/10 | 2/5 | 10/20 | Jul 26, 2006 12 oz bottle, via Secret Santa PhillyBeer2112. Pours a clear light yellow gold under a thin and fizzy white head that disappeared quickly. Aroma is of slightly grainy pale malts, wheat, and a little DMS. Flavor is fairly thin with some grassiness and light hay. Finishes with some corn and a touch of fruitiness. Mouthfeel is very light bodied and thin with moderate fizzy carbonation. Overall, not the best beer. There was really hardly any wheat character to this at all. Why do brewers filter wheats? What a bad concept. Nuffield (2724), Roseville, Minnesota, USA
| 2.3 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 5/10 | 2/5 | 5/10 | 3/5 | 8/20 | Jul 20, 2006 Really disappointing. I’ve always been attracted to Breckenridge labels, this one included--sort of a Gap or Old Navy look to them. In this case, the beer inside didn’t live up to it. Yellow with little head, a dusty aroma, and a mild flavor with only a few buried citrus notes (perhaps orange, like diluted Tang). A bit fizzy in a refreshing way, but it’s also thin beneath it and there’s no flavor to make it worth the effort anyway. Might as well take a Macro for 30% less money. harlequinn (2745), Tacoma, Washington, USA
| 2.7 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 5/10 | 3/5 | 5/10 | 3/5 | 11/20 | Jul 16, 2006 Similar to the Proper, but with a bit more of a fruit flavor to it, nothing added artificially, but just has a little bit more complexity if you can call it that. Some light spiciness, and yeastiness, but overall pretty bland and musky. HogTownHarry (4005), Toronto (Harbourfront), Ontario, Canada

Bright hazy light yellow with a smallish white head. Dry grassy aroma, very light sweet grainy malt, a wisp of fruit. Tastes of grain, apricot and apple juice, somewhat sweet, no yeast or hop character at all, incredibly quick finish. Watery, fairly flat mouthfeel, bit of a brackish aftertaste - A little weak in a weak class.
