Commercial Description:
The brewmaster's goal: the perfect ale for summertime quaffing, nothing more. SummerBright is the result. The craftsman's touch combines white wheat, two row pale and munich malt with the pacific northwest's most intriguing hops to create a bright, clean ale ideal for picnicking, evenings on the screen porch and enjoying the whims of the summer breeze.

Bottle (12oz). Another american wheat - this shouldn’t take long. Bright hazy light yellow with a smallish white head. Dry grassy aroma, very light sweet grainy malt, a wisp of fruit. Tastes of grain, apricot and apple juice, somewhat sweet, no yeast or hop character at all, incredibly quick finish. Watery, fairly flat mouthfeel, bit of a brackish aftertaste - A little weak in a weak class.

Pours golden with almost no head. Sightly weird malty aroma, can’t place it. Has a bit of a bite at the end. 90 degrees outside, one would think it would go down better.

Rather pallid yellow with a skin of white on top. Light aromas are nutty and lagered despite this being an ale, and these aromas are mimmicked in the flavor. Additional notes of pepper, sour lemon and sweat socks. I found this to be alot like Sierra Nevada Summerfest and, as such, a good summer brew.

From bottle, at the <a href=/events-detail.asp?eventID=3891>Balmoral Brewhaha. Wheats are sure catching on around here, ain’t they? Anyway, this one is suitably pale in color, but poured with a thin head uncharacteristic of the style. Taste first shows just a hint of traditional hefe flavors, a little banan with a spritz of lemon and a melange of spices. I can pick out the wheat character much better, and can find it quite to my liking.

Clear and golden with a thin head and a few streaming bubbles. Smells a bit sour. Medium to heavy mouth feel, with a flat taste. Almost no flavor and no finish. If the goal was to make a beer that could be chugged on a hot day - success.

There is a light hoppish aroma and a pour that is golden with a short lived white head. The flavor is mild with some malt and a little hop. The finish is mild and refreshing but little else.

Bottle - well, I haven’t been cutting grass, but I have just come down from cleaning out the attic and this is my guess as a beer that would go well following that. No offence, BB. Here it goes. Mild malt aroma. Appearance of an American Standard. Very mild malt and some yeasty fruitiness. Far from my favorite style as my initial comment should suggest, but this is drinkable and very well done. It is still grass cutting beer, but it is good grass cutting beer!

12oz bottle pours cloudy and golden without much head. Aromas of yeast, lemon and a bit of bannana. Flavor is a lot of bannana and lemon and a some bready notes. Pretty well carbonated and crisp and clean on the palate. Not much worth writing about with this one.
