Draft at the brewpub. A pitch black beer with a faint brown shine under a thick brown head. The aroma is sweet with primary notes of roasted malt, but also light notes of butter. The flavor is sweet with notes of roasted malt and butter, and the body is thin. In my opinion they shouldn’t have sold this specimen.

Draft @ the Breckenridge brewpub: Poured opaque with a big creamy tan head. The aroma was HUGE diacetyl. I have never smelled so much of it in a beer before. I had my head turned to the person next to me when the bartender put the beer down and I smelled it. There was some sugar notes as well . The flavor had tons of butterscotch as well but without the sugar sweetness that the aroma had. There was a little roasted malt that managed to poke through.

On tap nitro @ Breckenridge (Ballpark) poured an opaque black with a large lasting tan head. Aromas of milk chocolate, vanilla, roasted malt and light coffee. Palate was medium bodied and smoooth. Flavors of cocoa, vanilla, light roastiness and a hint of coffee with a smooth lingering chocolate finish. A great breakfast beer!

Had on tap at the brewpub on Blake. Poured a dark black color. I never really got anything which stood out about this beer.Flavor is sweet and it goes down smooth.

Nitro tap at the brewpub. Poured an opaque black color. Head was creamy and khaki with good retention and lacing. Aroma was of vanilla, milk chocolate, subdued butterscotch, and caramel. Smooth and dry on the tongue with weak roasty malt and caramel and mild roasty bitterness at the end.

Draft, Kenosha Steakhouse, Breckenridge CO. Black with tan head. Nose of coffee, sweet oatmeal, burnt toast, roasted malt, and something vaguely sour or lactic in the background. Flavor is pretty much dry stout, fairly full, with again something sweet and sour in the background-- not offensive, but not necessarily altogether right, either. Easy drinker, went nicely with my hunk of buffalo.
