The aroma is sweet with primary notes of roasted malt, but also light notes of butter. The flavor is sweet with notes of roasted malt and butter, and the body is thin. In my opinion they shouldn’t have sold this specimen. waolsen (1223), Littleton, Colorado, USA

| 2.5 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 4/10 | 4/5 | 5/10 | 3/5 | 9/20 | Oct 25, 2007 Draft @ the Breckenridge brewpub: Poured opaque with a big creamy tan head. The aroma was HUGE diacetyl. I have never smelled so much of it in a beer before. I had my head turned to the person next to me when the bartender put the beer down and I smelled it. There was some sugar notes as well . The flavor had tons of butterscotch as well but without the sugar sweetness that the aroma had. There was a little roasted malt that managed to poke through. kp (8500), Woodstock, Georgia, USA

| 3.4 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 7/10 | 5/5 | 6/10 | 4/5 | 12/20 | Jul 25, 2007 Draft, Kenosha Steakhouse, Breckenridge CO. Black with tan head. Nose of coffee, sweet oatmeal, burnt toast, roasted malt, and something vaguely sour or lactic in the background. Flavor is pretty much dry stout, fairly full, with again something sweet and sour in the background-- not offensive, but not necessarily altogether right, either. Easy drinker, went nicely with my hunk of buffalo.
