The aroma is sweet with primary notes of roasted malt, but also light notes of butter. The flavor is sweet with notes of roasted malt and butter, and the body is thin. In my opinion they shouldn’t have sold this specimen. joergen (8634), Frederiksberg, Denmark

| 2.7 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 6/10 | 4/5 | 5/10 | 3/5 | 9/20 | Oct 10, 2005 Lasting beige head, dark cola coloured hue. Hazelnutty malts procure a dark chocolate feel that leafy hops somehow passes easily. Interesting, if mellow, developing date, anise, cigar and cola notes take form among the evolving roastiness, but everything is too subtle and there’s a bit too much tartness to my tastes.. | 3.1 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 7/10 | 4/5 | 6/10 | 3/5 | 11/20 | Oct 1, 2003 (draught) Pitch-black; greige dense head. Burnt/roasted barley, sulphury nose. Taste is meaty, yeasty and roasted barley. Soy sauce Japanese style, but less salty. Fleeting glimpse of buckwheat-flour. Full-bodied, on the verge of oily. OK Stout. Looks are more Guinness-like than the taste - well, OK.
