Aromas of milk chocolate, vanilla, roasted malt and light coffee. Palate was medium bodied and smoooth. Flavors of cocoa, vanilla, light roastiness and a hint of coffee with a smooth lingering chocolate finish. Lighter body than other stouts I’m used to. Marvelous bitterness with loads of grapefruit. Smooth roasted flavor with a goodly amount of hops. Roasted and hoppy finish. GeneralGao (2627), Iowa City, Iowa, USA Sep 10, 2007 Nitro tap at the brewpub. Poured an opaque black color. Head was creamy and khaki with good retention and lacing. Aroma was of vanilla, milk chocolate, subdued butterscotch, and caramel. Smooth and dry on the tongue with weak roasty malt and caramel and mild roasty bitterness at the end.
