Commercial Description:
Who would have thought deep in the jungles of Papua New Guinea and Madagascar grew the perfect ingredient to build an extraordinary Porter in Colorado? An ale that has all the chocolate and roasted nut flavor of a classic Porter, with an enigmatic surprise thrown in for good measure, real vanilla bean. Breckenridge Brewery’s Vanilla Porter. A vanilla kiss in a rich, dark sea.

Bottle. Pours dark brown with a small tan head. Aroma is of dark roast malts and light vanilla. Flavor is of medium chocolate with a great vanilla aftertaste. Interesting beer, love that vanilla. Thanks for the trade JB.

I thought this was good overall porter, delicately Sweet, roasted malt, not a lot of backbone or hop balance, but good enough to get again, rather flat looking light tan head.

Tastes like a very neutral dark ale with a bit of vanilla extract. It doesn’t taste bad, but it leaves a lot to be desired.

Enjoyed this one on tap and from bottle on the same day! This porter might have been supurb if it had a better malt / hop balance. The vanilla is very nice, but it can’t compensate for a mediocre base. I must say, however, it is quite drinkable and would purchase again. On tap is a little better.

On tap at flying saucer. Pours a very dark brown with a snall frothy light tan head that diminishes quickly leaving sticky lacing. The aroma is a faint roast and caramel. Medium mouthfeel with a sweet roast and vanilla. Easy to drink a good porter from Breckenridge.

pours a very deep brown color...not quite black...with a fairly thin light tan head...poor retention. aroma is slightly nutty and roasty with a hint of molasses with faint vanilla and alcohol aromas. flavor has caramel and vanilla with some nuttiness...tastes a bit like vanilla extract smells. slightly creamy mouthfeel with a nutty vanilla finish.

Bottle to pint glass. Light black in color with a rather thin off white head. the hint of vanilla is a welcome compliment to the porter style. nice porter

Very good beer. The vanilla aroma makes you want to dive in, but the taste comes up a little bit short. Tastes mostly of coffee with a hint of vanilla. Very nice brew overall, wold drink again.
