| 2.6 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 4/10 | 4/5 | 5/10 | 4/5 | 9/20 | Oct 17, 2008 Way too much vanilla. I found it to build over time, too, for some reason. By the end of a glass I was kind of cringing due to the vanilla flavor - which tastes suspiciously artificial. Nice mouthfeel. Smells kind of like vanilla coke - not really a good thing for a beer. Will not be revisiting unless I end up at their brewery. ChristianScheffel (4481), Odense, Denmark

| 2.7 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 6/10 | 4/5 | 5/10 | 2/5 | 10/20 | Oct 8, 2008 12 oz. bottle. Pours a deep clear reddish brown, which is more red when held againist a light. Moderate tan head that lasted until mid-glass and left a nice layer of foam after each sip. Mild but pleasant aroma of malt. Where is the vanilla? The flavor is sweet malt up front with a slight metallic flavor as well that tingles the tongue a bit. The vanilla finally emerges at the finish and lingers in the aftertaste well beyond the swallow. There is also an odd, slick mouthfeel towards the finish of this beer that I did not particullarly care for. Thin bodied. As a stand-alone porter, this beer would have been weak. It seemed more like a red ale to me. Worth a try but not worth revisiting. wheelz843 (205), Grand Rapids, Michigan, USA

Light lacing. Light roasted malt aroma. The vanilla comes through nicely in the flavor. A smooth, light to medium body beer. Nice beer. NDbeerdrinker (164), Virginia Beach, Virginia, USA
| 3.2 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 4/10 | 4/5 | 7/10 | 3/5 | 14/20 | Oct 4, 2008 Pours a dark brown with a thin tan head. Aroma is actually a bit unpleasant. The taste is better. Chocolate, coffee, and some cherry with an underlying vanilla flavor. A pretty enjoyable beer. gringo332 (238), Richardson, Texas, USA
| 4 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 7/10 | 3/5 | 7/10 | 5/5 | 18/20 | Oct 3, 2008 Excellent porter. Leaves a creamy taste in your mouth. The second one really starts to grow on you. I wouldn’t say the vanilla is very pronounced. But the porter has a good balance of smoothness and bitterness. Could use more head though.
