iabeerguy (158), Iowa, USA Oct 4, 2009 A little disappointed in this beer. I was hoping for a thicker beer. Aroma of chocolate and vanilla with dark brown beer. Minimal head with some vanilla flavor sfhodense (554), Odense NØ, Denmark Oct 1, 2009 Dark brown with a light brown head. Aroma is caramel, chocolate and vanilla. Flavour is sticky sweet chocolate and overpowering vanilla. Narnad (681), Wonder Lake, Illinois, USA Sep 29, 2009 Sampled at Lundeen’s Brew Ha-Ha 2009. Pours a clear brown with ruby highlights and has an average white head that sits atop it. Aroma is sweet with notes of molasses, chocolate, toasted malt, a light doughy-ness to it and a strong vanilla nose. Flavor has a very smooth sweetness composed of caramel, chocolate and an overall strong vanilla but is the perfect amount to compliment the sweetness present perfectly. A nice body and a very creamy feeling to it. Overall, generally it is very hard to do vanilla brews without overdoing the vanilla. This brew did a great job of preventing this and in turn, produced a fantastically memorable porter. douglas88 (1555), Salt Lake City, Utah, USA Sep 24, 2009 On tap at the Ale House in Grand Junction. Pours a dark brown with a small white head. The aroma is milky chocolates. The flavor is similarly dominated by milk chocolates and a light vanilla bean. Pretty nice and easy to drink. CitizenZ (18), Kansas, USA Sep 22, 2009 Thin pour producing no head which makes sense since there is very little carbonation in this dark brown beer. It has a delightful fruity and chocolate aroma and the vanilla is much more apparent to the nose than the taste. Chocolaty vanilla dark roasted malt goodness where the vanilla becomes more and more prominent in the follow through than on the tip of the tongue. Its a properly decent interesting porter. Snot19kilo (81), Oakwood, Illinois, USA Sep 20, 2009 Bottle poured into 4oz sample glass.
deep dark brown, with no head. Aroma was roasted malt, nuts and coffee.
Flavor was Strong nut and malt with a full vanilla taste followed with a milky/creamy finish. A good thick beer. I would buy this beer. pressboxjoe (69), , New Jersey, USA Sep 20, 2009 Bottle. No head at all. Roasty imperial aroma, sweet, but no vanilla. I do get vanilla in the drinking though - after a few sips, a wallop! Then another! A bit reminiscent of vanilla coke, but enough like a porter to stand apart. Fratto (662), Arlington, Texas, USA Sep 14, 2009 Taste isn’t too bad, but the vanilla is incredibly strong. Leaves a burning feeling like vanilla vodka...
