The kiss of vanilla is pleasant but not awe-inspiring much like the beer itself. 1010 (206), Marysville, Ohio, USA

You can definitely smell the vanilla along with some chocolate. Has a very drinkable taste. ajm (917), Los Angeles, California, USA
| 3.5 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 6/10 | 4/5 | 7/10 | 4/5 | 14/20 | Sep 4, 2008 This was much better than the last time I had it. Bottle from Cortez, CO. Buttery mouthfeel and slight flavor of same. I have been drinking Polish Baltic Porters of late so the absence of copper in the palate is very welcome with this guy. Milk chocolate and vanilla round out - this would be boss if it had any coffee to it. Room temperature a must. Note to nbutler11: no, I didn’t inflate this rating just to put Breck’s average score well over 3.0. nqualls (1429), Nashville, Tennessee, USA
| 3.3 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 7/10 | 4/5 | 5/10 | 4/5 | 13/20 | Aug 28, 2008 Bottle. Poured a black color with a two finger tan head. Aroma is roasted malt and vanilla. Very sweet vanilla to the taste. I didn’t like this initially, but it grew on me after a while. Decent beer. Grizzle (44), Lawrence, Kansas, USA
| 3.1 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 6/10 | 3/5 | 6/10 | 3/5 | 13/20 | Aug 27, 2008 Bottle -> Imperial pint glass. Great aroma: sweet and malty. Pours a deep, rich mahogany, with a 1/2 to 3/4 inch khaki head, which disappears perhaps quicker than a porter head should. Zero lacing to speak of. The vanilla is successfully infused with the chocolate, caramel, nut, and malt notes, producing a roasted sweetness. The body is a thin-medium, with an oily slickness as it rolls off the tongue and down the hatch. smjohnst (202), , Pennsylvania, USA
| 3 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 7/10 | 3/5 | 5/10 | 4/5 | 11/20 | Aug 25, 2008 Nice aroma and a decent look to it, not alot of foam. It was refreshing but even though they say that they use real vanilla bean it kind of has a finish of vanilla extract to it. Thaichile (599), 10aFly, New Jersey, USA
| 3.3 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 7/10 | 3/5 | 6/10 | 3/5 | 14/20 | Aug 25, 2008 Bottle. Pours a black coffee color with a thin tan head. Nose has some vanilla notes and has a sweetness to it. The vanilla became even more distant on the palate but the sweetness mellowed the overall deep roasted qualities of the brew. Although I am not a dark beer person, I have been liking those that are flavored and this was no different. Nice beer. Thanks to thiesti for this bottle. | 2.9 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 5/10 | 3/5 | 6/10 | 3/5 | 12/20 | Aug 24, 2008 Poured a very dark brown with an off white head. Aroma was pretty bland, but i picked out some chocolate and vanilla, and roasted malts. Flavor was also pretty bland, nothing sticks out here, but no off flavors either, just so so average porter.
