Aroma is vanilla and mabye even a hint of bourbon in the nose. Flavor is pretty rich...vanilla, bourbon, malty, and smooth. Some sweetness would make this a beer that I could only drink one per sitting, but I like it. ChrisJ (100), Warrenton, Virginia, USA

Pours in ruby with a light vanilla aroma with some metallic chocolate and coffee malts. Flavor is big vanilla nose that dominates everything. Follows up with some mild malty flavors. Medium-light body with medium-heavy carbonation. Slightly sweet but off balance. Definitely different. One trick pony. agillespie81 (195), Denver, Colorado, USA
| 3.8 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 4/10 | 5/5 | 8/10 | 5/5 | 16/20 | May 18, 2008 Extremely dark brown color......opaque. Thick, fluffy head......mild malt aroma, with a hint of sweetness. Noticeable vanilla flavor up front, but not overpowering. Pretty smooth mouthfeel. Taste of vanilla continues in the back, balanced by notes of mellow roasted malt. v64 (74), Austin, Texas, USA
| 2.9 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 5/10 | 4/5 | 6/10 | 3/5 | 11/20 | May 17, 2008 Pours very dark brown, thin head. Nothing unique about the smell. Tastes slightly like coffee. The vanilla flavor is noticeable, but not particularly strong. Would have been better if it came through more. Not a good beer to drink on its own, but I imagine it would pair perfectly with a slice of pie. firstdraft (7), USA does not count | 2.8 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 5/10 | 4/5 | 5/10 | 3/5 | 11/20 | May 15, 2008 I’m a Porter fan but I’ve never had a Vanilla Porter before so I had to give this a try. It was good wasn’t great but was drinkable or as the bottle states partakable. Nice aroma little bit coffee/cocoie smell. Nice dark brown with a mild head. Flavor was different I have to say that slight cocoie taste was there along with the smell, then there was the vanilla flavor. But I kept waiting for something else that never showed up? Hard to explain. Didn’t have the body of most of the Porters I’ve had. Not much of a finish either. Like the bottle says its partakable. | 2.9 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 5/10 | 4/5 | 5/10 | 3/5 | 12/20 | May 13, 2008 Deep, dark brown pour. Aroma of roasted malts, vanilla, with a touch of light fruity hops. Watery body. Mildly roasted coffee, light vanilla, somewhat bitter/sweet flavors. Finishes aggressive and a little oversweet. Eh, ok. crowderm (277), Recklinghausen, Germany
| 3.3 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 7/10 | 3/5 | 6/10 | 3/5 | 14/20 | May 12, 2008 Pours a thin dark brown, with a quickly dying tan head. Has a nice vanilla/malt aroma. Smells and tastes kind of like a vanilla coke. Pretty thin, but smooth mouthfeel. A slightly pungent flavor detracts from the overall experience. Pretty decent brew though. oldpainless (35), fort mill, South Carolina, USA
| 3.7 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 7/10 | 4/5 | 7/10 | 5/5 | 14/20 | May 12, 2008 Not as heavy as your average porter but none the less quite a good (dessert) beer. A bit heavy vanilla finish, almost a cola like character. Could not drink to many but would be great w/ any choc dessert or coconut pie.
