crowderm (275), Recklinghausen, Germany May 12, 2008 Pours a thin dark brown, with a quickly dying tan head. Has a nice vanilla/malt aroma. Smells and tastes kind of like a vanilla coke. Pretty thin, but smooth mouthfeel. A slightly pungent flavor detracts from the overall experience. Pretty decent brew though. oldpainless (35), fort mill, South Carolina, USA May 12, 2008 Not as heavy as your average porter but none the less quite a good (dessert) beer. A bit heavy vanilla finish, almost a cola like character. Could not drink to many but would be great w/ any choc dessert or coconut pie. ThaBobfather (178), Cincinnati, Ohio, USA May 11, 2008 Decent solid porter, however lacks in the Vanilla taste which is what i was expecting. At the price of this at my local gas station (9.50) i probably wont buy again over better porters i’ve had at a much more reasonable price, but i was glad to have tasted it. breckenridge continutes to be a decently solid brewery BelgianBeerGal (1276), Sabbatical in Las Vegas, Nevada, USA May 8, 2008 Bottled. Pours a nice mahogany brown with some ruby highlights. Small tan film on top and not much lacing. Mild aroma of coffee, toasted malt and vanilla. Decent flavour, thin mouthfeel, maybe a little "chemically" tasting with the vanilla. bigtaster (184), Grand Rapids, USA May 5, 2008 Pours black with red-brown hues and a small tan head, some lacing. Weird warm malty aroma with banana, vanilla. Quick hit of alcohol even though it is only 4.7% then a quickly receding flavor of smoke, vanilla and, caramel. Leaves a undesired aftertaste hindering my yearning to keep drinking. Altogether not bad. Sparky27 (1559), Phoenix, Arizona, USA May 5, 2008 Bottle. Poured a deep clear black with almost no head, sans for a small layer of film on top. Nose is mild coffee, mild chocolate, mild malt and just a hint of vanilla, though you really have to search. Palate is much the same – mild everything - though the vanilla comes through nicely in the finish, especially as it warms. Nice creamy mouth feel with ok lacing. A decent “niche” porter. texasbartender (160), Sugarland, Texas, USA May 4, 2008 The beer pours a dark brown to a black with a thin brown white head. The nose is a mix of Carmel coffee and vanilla. The taste is as deep as the beer is dark it is a great mix of roasted malts and an underpinning of vanilla with a clean sweet vanilla finish. ScoWRee (275), Phila, Pennsylvania, USA May 4, 2008 Pours a dark brown with a thick tan head, looks like a cola soda. Aroma has a slight hint of vanilla with a touch of malt. Taste is creamywith vanilla, roasted malt, coffee. A nice porter. Flavor is a little thin.
