Commercial Description:
Who would have thought deep in the jungles of Papua New Guinea and Madagascar grew the perfect ingredient to build an extraordinary Porter in Colorado? An ale that has all the chocolate and roasted nut flavor of a classic Porter, with an enigmatic surprise thrown in for good measure, real vanilla bean. Breckenridge Brewery’s Vanilla Porter. A vanilla kiss in a rich, dark sea.

BOTTLE: dark brown pour, looks as thin on the pour as it tastes. Nice vanilla aroma, more vanilla on taste, not much roastiness. A good drinker, but not spectacular.

Draft pint from Nicholson’s in downtown Cincinnati. Pours very dark brown with small tan head that laces the glass. Vanilla and roasted malts on the nose. Vanilla flavor with hops and malt. Sweet and roasty. Light/medium body, too light. Sweet malty finish. Not bad but the most disappointing part is the low ABV.

deep brown pour with a small light brown head. the vanilla taste and aroma was not over powering. i expected a bigger acohol content.

An enormous vanilla aroma comes off the clear and dark burgundy brown. A small off-white veil remains atop it all. The vanilla is quite overwhelming, it becomes challenging to find anything else. Roastiness remains moderate, while the sweetness inherent to vanilla is heavy, though not cloying. Gently leafy, gently milky, borderline hazelnuts; basically all about timid malts and NOT timid vanilla. The mouthfeel is rather creamy, though only thin-medium in size. For the ones in the mood only!

On tap at the Brewery at the Ballpark. Pours dark brown with a light foamy tan head. Nice coffee and nut aroma. Little sweet vanilla flavor, then a mild balanced bitter, then a sweet vanilla finish. This is light bodied and a great porter. If you go in expecting vanilla, you’ll love this brew! One of the more memorable beers (out of 197) on this trip! A big huge vanilla bomb in a glass. Definitely underrated.

Bottle. Pours dark brown with a red hue and an average sized off white head. Vanilla bean, smokey aroma. Roasty, sweet cream initial flavor with soft hints of vanilla, finishes slightly burnt and bitter. Body is a little thin and lacking carbonation. Creamy, watery texture. Good, but it could be even better.

Pours a dark brown with medium tan head, decent lacing. Flavor strong of vanilla, roasted malt, and not a lot else. Flavor is bordering cloyingly sweet, but not bad otherwise.

I love this beer! Great sweet flavor that I enjoy from time to time. Not an everyday drinker, too sweet for that but at dinner 3 or 4 is nice.
