Commercial Description:
Who would have thought deep in the jungles of Papua New Guinea and Madagascar grew the perfect ingredient to build an extraordinary Porter in Colorado? An ale that has all the chocolate and roasted nut flavor of a classic Porter, with an enigmatic surprise thrown in for good measure, real vanilla bean. Breckenridge Brewery’s Vanilla Porter. A vanilla kiss in a rich, dark sea.

Pours out black with a moderate tan head. Aroma is of vanilla and slight roasted malt. Taste is vanilla, roasted malt and a touch of other sugary sweetness. Sweetness lingers a bit too long on the finish, but otherwise this isn’t a bad beer.

Poured a dark black with a nice tan head. Aroma of strong vanilla and malt. Taste started with malt and had an aftertaste of a vanilla extract type taste which lasted a little too long. Not bad at all but different. Had a medium to full body and had an atypical flavor and body for a porter. Again, liked it a lot and would probably buy again. Nice brew.

Drank poured from the bottle into a pint glass. The aroma was good, a mixture of roasted chocolate, coffee, nut, and caramel malt, with a slight vanilla tone. It had a dark color, basically black, with a fairly small, short-lived, off-white head. It’s flavor was predominantly sweet, with a vanilla tone, a touch of nut, and slight sourness. The palate was pretty wet and it had a very full, creamy mouthfeel, but only average to light carbonation. I liked this beer, it had good character, and was very drinkable.

not a great beer, not a bad beer either. the vanilla is a little overpowering, and kind of kills the flavor of the rest of the beer. very smooth, bit a little to sweet.

Dark pour with minimal head and nice carbonation. Pleasant aroma with hints of vanilla. Nice and smooth on the pallet, malts and some roast but the vanilla is on the lowdown. A little thin for a port so I wouldn’t sat it was very rich. Lightly sweet and smooth finish. So far the Best from the batch of this sampler case.

Pours black with big rich off white creamy head. Aroma is bad. It smells cheap and macro. Very strong vanilla in nose and taste. Pretty smooth taste. Pretty good texture with slight bitterness. Bittersweet mouth feel that starts sweet, but the burnt bitterness lingers (like the cloying sweetness). The balance and cohesion isn’t perfect, but not bad overall. My favorite part of it is the vanilla experiment.

Just misses. Pours like a porter should, thinner than you think in mouthfeel, with just a hint of vanilla. Not quite better than average.

Aroma is very heavy roasted chocolatee malts with a gint of vanilla and nuttyness. Small, creamy, white brown heaed covering a dark brown body. Minimal lacing. Taste is somewhat unpleasent with a very sour taste. Very malty and earthy, not much vanilla or even chocolate. Watery mouthfeel with lively carbonation. Not as good as it sounds.
