I LOVE Breckenridge’s Oatmeal Stout, and was really pumped for this one. Aroma is awesome; smells like a vanilla soda. Unfortunately, it kind of tastes like one as well. Image an A&W cream soda with alcohol in it. Same flavor, same stickiness, same carbonation. If that sounds like something you’d love, knock yourself out. As for me, if I want one of those, I’ll hit the soda machine. obxdude10 (1556), Pottstown, Pennsylvania, USA

| 2.4 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 6/10 | 3/5 | 5/10 | 3/5 | 7/20 | Jan 28, 2008 Bottle. Nose is pure vanilla with a touch of sweetness reminiscent of root beer. Dark brown with an off-white head. Flavor is vanilla-heavy, which works for about 3 sips. After that it becomes intolerable and drain-pour material. This beer should be held up as an example as to why 3 oz. samples don’t provide accurate ratings. CP (124), USA

Overall, a good beer. I would get this again

| 3.1 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 6/10 | 3/5 | 6/10 | 3/5 | 13/20 | Jan 27, 2008 Dark pour, small head. Smells mildy of vanilla. Vanilla is strong in the taste, and then the typical roasted malt of a porter. Enjoyable, not great. oreogobbler (217), Austin, Texas, USA
| 3.1 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 6/10 | 4/5 | 6/10 | 4/5 | 11/20 | Jan 26, 2008 Has the aroma of slightly sour vanilla root beer. Smells very sweet. Dark redish brown and creamy head. Lightly carbonated. Strong vanilla upfront fallowed by light citrus and a milk chocolate finish. Good flavor, but too sweet. Velvet smooth palate. Intensely creamy. I could only drink about half of this before I had to toss it. Way too sweet. Not easily drinkable. DWestrick (237), Ft Wayne, Indiana, USA
