Commercial Description:
Who would have thought deep in the jungles of Papua New Guinea and Madagascar grew the perfect ingredient to build an extraordinary Porter in Colorado? An ale that has all the chocolate and roasted nut flavor of a classic Porter, with an enigmatic surprise thrown in for good measure, real vanilla bean. Breckenridge Brewery’s Vanilla Porter. A vanilla kiss in a rich, dark sea.

Bottle Dec 2007, thanks to Josh. Pours a deep warm brown, nice color. Smells nuanced and malty, sensually sweet. Slight alcoholic notes that make the aromas and flavors highly reminiscent of vanilla extract. Yet the malt is there too. Creamy chewy silky mouthfeel. An interesting, appealing treat.

Bottle. Rich cocoa and vanilla aroma. Red brown, low creamy head. Very chocolatty. Full body, slick mouthfeel. Pure dessert.

12 oz bottle. Pours a deep ruby brown with a thin head. Aroma is vanilla creme, with egg nog, light chocolate. Very sweet flavor- some butterscotch- may be some diacetyl? Tons of vanilla flavor with cream, toffee and loads of sweetness. Slick and creamy mouthfeel. Too sweet and wierd for me.

Pours a deep deep mahogany. Caramel and vanilla nose. Intense vanilla flavor, and that is a good thing. It seems just right. Very smooth and palatable. My favorite vanilla porter.

Draft: This poured a dark brown with a small amount of thick head. It had the aroma of roasted chocolate covered peanuts. The taste was a thick vanilla coffee. This had a nice vanilla finish to. Not bad.

Rated 8/26/07. 12 oz. bottle courtesy of ’Naka. Pours dark black/brown with no head. Nose of coffe, vanilla, malt, and a hint of alcohol. Good porter taste. Not strong in the coffee department. Nice hops, and then a vanilla finish. Not bad.
