green (187), Boston, Massachusetts, USA May 31, 2007 Medicinal lilac aroma. Very heavy but soft mouthfeel. On the sweet side with cola and vanilla flavors but not quite sweet enough to highlight the vanilla. Finshes with lingering chocolate. Overall, a bit like a malted and not much more complex than that. jetzler (622), oklahoma city, Oklahoma, USA May 31, 2007 Pours, quite dark with a ncie dark head, malty aromas, very strong vanilla taste, I felt like I was sucking on vanilla bean most of the time. I would have prefered a little less vanilla taste, and more dark chocolate malts but hey thats my opinion. maybe a bit more structure on the palate too. hopdog (5534), Lansdale, Pennsylvania, USA May 30, 2007 12oz bottle. Poured a dark brown color with an averaged sized tan head. Aromas of roasted and toasted nuts, chocolate, and lighter vanilla. Tastes of vanilla (more than the aromas), chocolate, lighter roast, and nuts. Body a tad on the thin side. tig397 (64), dearborn heights, Michigan, USA May 27, 2007 white head. smelled of alcohol slight vanilla. tastes of light vanilla, roasted malts. Hollywoodt (174), Grand Rapids, Michigan, USA May 25, 2007 Poured a dark brown with minimal white head. Aroma was dark, sweet malt with just a slight hint of the vanilla. In the flavor, the malt was more dark and roasted. The vanilla is used well in this brew. It’s not overwhelming (but close), but it is a nice touch. No ttoo bad at all. mlist55 (210), media, Pennsylvania, USA May 23, 2007 Nice black pour with a puffy tan head. Aroma is nice and creamy with a subtle vanilla aroma. Some coffee as well. Flavor is loaded with vanilla. Very sweet and creamy flavor with some roasted chocolate malts and a slightly nutty finish. Really sweet finish and aftertaste.
madcow75 (425), Sun Prairie, Wisconsin, USA May 22, 2007 Bottle. Pours dark brown, with red when held up to the light. Medium light brown head. Mild aroma of vanilla and some toasted malts and chocolate. Upfront taste is vanilla and then the chocolate and slight bitterness follow. Smooth, sticky, astringent. Wiseblood (658), Clarksville, Tennessee, USA May 22, 2007 Dark shade of brown with red highlights, but no head. Lots of carbonation-looked almost cola-like. Sweet vanilla and molasses aroma that seemed a little synthetic. Good blend of roasted malts and sharp, acidic, vanilla flavor. Comes across as a bit watery overall though and ends with a sticky, astringent finish.
