Commercial Description:
Who would have thought deep in the jungles of Papua New Guinea and Madagascar grew the perfect ingredient to build an extraordinary Porter in Colorado? An ale that has all the chocolate and roasted nut flavor of a classic Porter, with an enigmatic surprise thrown in for good measure, real vanilla bean. Breckenridge Brewery’s Vanilla Porter. A vanilla kiss in a rich, dark sea.

An amazing subtle vanilla aroma. The flavor is in-your-face vanilla though and way too much. Couldn’t imagine trying to drink a whole one of these by myself.

pours beautiful burgundy with a deep bright red. thin pale head. smeels of vannila and nothing more. really sweet start alot of vinnila with a faint bitterness to finish. another extremely smooth beer with very little carbonation. i think its a good gateway brew.

Dark brown pour with a tan head. Very sweet aroma with lots of vanilla and some roast. Flavor was excessively sweet with way too much vanilla. Drinkable, but kind of disappointing.

Suprisingly not terrible. Pours a deep red, minimal head. Aroma is heavy vanilla, almost like chocolate ice cream and coffee. Flavor starts out nicely, big chocolate and coffee notes coated in a very smooth but strong vanilla flavor. About 2/3 of the way through, something starts to miss (I think it’s the vanilla meeting the hops) and things become fairly chemical-like, ending grassy with a dry tart on the tongue.

on tap at oasis in rockford. no, it was a bottle. poured dark with a brown head. I don’t know how much vanilla they add but you could sure taste it. A bit of chocolate to boot. Refreshing and smooth. I would have this again, no question about it.

Bottle. Pours a deep brown color with a med-sized beige head. Aroma is nice mix of malt, chocolate, nuts and vanilla. Flavor is on the sweetish side, with a solid malt backbone, vanilla, coffee. Interesting, but a touch on the thin side. Somewhat dry. Worth a go, but nothing earth shattering.

Draught @ Flying Saucer Little Rock 5-2-07. Dark brown, minimal tan head. Vanilla aroma. Flavor is sweet but not excessive. I consider this to be a nice dessert beer.

Bottle. Pour brownish black with a very thin off-white head. Only a faint scent of vanilla and hop. Taste was malt, chocolate and overall vanilla especially the aftertaste. It’s maybe too light for a porter. Not complex, but definitely a new flavor for me.
