Commercial Description:
Who would have thought deep in the jungles of Papua New Guinea and Madagascar grew the perfect ingredient to build an extraordinary Porter in Colorado? An ale that has all the chocolate and roasted nut flavor of a classic Porter, with an enigmatic surprise thrown in for good measure, real vanilla bean. Breckenridge Brewery’s Vanilla Porter. A vanilla kiss in a rich, dark sea.

Pours a clear dark mahogany with a thin-lacing wispy dark tan head. Aroma has some sweet vanilla and milk chocolatey malt Body starts with a sweet caramel malty and sugary vanilla flavor with a mildly bitter finish. Decently balanced and interesting brew.

I didn’t much fancy this beer cold. With the very first drink, I was taken back with an unsatisfactory liking but as it sat for a few minutes, the warmer it got the better the taste. I believe the vanilla needs to stick a bit more in order for it to really be appreciated.

deep cola colored brown body, soapy tan head that fades off very fast. nose is alot of malts, not nearly the vanilla i was expecting, but the flavor more than made up for it....sweet chocolate is complemented on an almost even level with huge amounts of vanilla. i cannot think of any other vanilla flavored beer that actually had this much vanilla in it. the sweetness isnt cloying and holds through the after taste very nicely. a thoroughly enjoyable beer

12 oz bottle. Pours ruby brown in color with a tan head. Nose of definitely vanilla, brown sugar, and .. raisin bran flakes. It kinda tastes like rasin bran flakes too, chalky, vanilla, a little funky. There’s a touch of alcohol and spice in the back of my throat. Bah, i was right when I said I wouldn’ be having any good beers tonight.

pours red/brown with diminishing head. aroma does not impress me much..maybe cold coffee. I did however like the taste alot. The vanilla comes out very nicely, the base could have been better though, its a tad too watery. I enjoy this though and would have again, its a very nice change of pace.

12oz bottle (thanks to shigadeyo) poured a deep brownish red color with a tiny light tan head. Aroma had small notes of vanilla along with chocolate. The flavor was more of a vanilla soda than a beer. Super light body and not much carbonation. Overall I think the vanilla was good they just need to change the base recipe.

Bottle. Pours black. Very little head. Smells like a chilled coffee. At first, I taste some nuttiness, and then it turns to a creamy vanilla-like melted vanilla bean ice cream. Finish is abrupt. No texture; watery, and composition is very light in the mouth. Seems like this has two stages: nutty, then vanilla—and then it’s gone. Easy to drink, though.

Dark, reddish-brown color. Not much head. Chocolate aroma. Sweet and mildly hoppy. A lot of vanilla, with a hint of malt and chocolate. Mildly carbonated. Very good.
