maugus4ever (121), Winston-Salem, North Carolina, USA Apr 5, 2009 Pours dark brown with a small tan head and decent lacing. Light in taste and mouthfeel, but still tasty. Very subtle vanilla flavor (to the point that I was disappointed since it is a vanilla porter). Not a bad beer, but nothing to write home about. RyanMM (45), Ferndale, Michigan, USA Apr 5, 2009 Pours dark ruby, thick beige head that dissipates to a fantastically clingy lacing. Aroma has a faint vanilla hint. Thin mouthfeel, somewhat malty, and the vanilla is very subtle. Really taste it on the back end. Pleasing but not fantastic. It’s not as hardy as I’d expect a porter to be, if it wasn’t for the vanilla, there’d be almost nothing there to taste. Rciesla (3510), Exit 15W, New Jersey, USA Mar 30, 2009 Bottle. Pours a ruby body with an off white head. Mineral and chocolate, lightly nutty with a hint of vanilla and coffee bitterness. Thin dry body. okay. DuffManOhYeah (124), USA Mar 29, 2009 Really a pretty terrible beer. I expected something rich and sweet. Possibly even something bittersweet. This was a study in the porter flavor fighting the vanilla flavor and both flavors losing. This was truly one of the worst beers I’ve ever had- especially when you factor in the expectations of a micro. Avoid at all costs. Slacks (481), Bolton, Ontario, Canada Mar 28, 2009 12oz Bottle: Pours a murky dark brown, what little head had presented itself was not long for this world. Aroma is very sweet, malty, chocolate, cinnamon bread, and some sour lemon(?) for good measure. I love a beer that delivers what it promises and the vanilla is robust, up front, and not at all difficult to find. Roasty malts, sweet chocolate, just a hint of hops. I love the vanilla but it does perhaps overpower any subtleties that may exist otherwise, but I still must say I thoroughly enjoyed this. The aftertaste is great, I’d do this again anytime. SuperDave70 (1157), Beautiful Sunny Mesa, Arizona, USA Mar 27, 2009 Dark brown pour with minimal head. Aroma is vanilla and toasted grain. Flavor is very vanilla. It’s an okay brew, but pretty one dimensional. Funny, I used to really like this stuff. smetrick (18), Conshohocken, Pennsylvania, USA Mar 27, 2009 What can I say? I bought a sample case of Breckenridge that included Avalanche, Pandora’s Bock, Vanilla porter, and Oatmeal stout. Not a one of these beers is really any good. I use them for marinades and drink better stuff. Sorry Breckenridge. Try another brewer. ljstephenson (111), Lawton, Oklahoma, USA Mar 25, 2009 Dark pour with a tan head, caramel and vanilla aroma, taste is heavy with vanilla, coffee and dark chocolate. Finishes malty and a bit dry.
