Commercial Description:
Who would have thought deep in the jungles of Papua New Guinea and Madagascar grew the perfect ingredient to build an extraordinary Porter in Colorado? An ale that has all the chocolate and roasted nut flavor of a classic Porter, with an enigmatic surprise thrown in for good measure, real vanilla bean. Breckenridge Brewery’s Vanilla Porter. A vanilla kiss in a rich, dark sea.

(Bottle 35,5 cl) Courtesy of yespr. Clear, dark brown with an orange hue and arough, off-white head. Aroma of roasted malt and vanilla. Medium body, sweetish roasted malts and then these very distinct vanilla accents. The bitterness is very discreet. Vanilla goes well in bourbon flavoured beers, but otherwise I really don’t dig it. 180907

12 fl oz bottle. Pours hazy brown/amber with light brown head. Slight roasted malt with a whiff of vanilla. Chocolate and vanilla. More a cookie than a beer. Not bad as such, just different.

Medium brown colour. Fairly heavy vanilla nose...but not exactly evoking the ring-tailed lemurs of Madagascar. There’s some light chocolate notes in there as well. Heavy vanilla on the palate, with the slight toastiness of a thinnish porter. Not all that cohesive, either, unfortunately.

Dark brown color. Light aroma of chestnuts, caramel and milk chocolate. Bad flavor of cheap chocolate, not as bad as the Floris, but in that direction. Very difficult to drink.
