| 3.3 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 8/10 | 3/5 | 6/10 | 3/5 | 13/20 | Sep 7, 2006 Bottle. Pours dark brown/black, cola like with a thin wispy white head. Aroma is mostly vanilla bean. Same with the flavor, mostly sweet vanilla, but there is enough caramel and dark roast in there to keep it from getting out of wack. The finish is a tad ashy, along with some mild peppery bitterness. A little too sweet and overpowering vanilla for my tastes. ryan (1778), Beltsville, Maryland, USA

| 3.3 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 7/10 | 4/5 | 7/10 | 3/5 | 12/20 | Jun 11, 2006 Poured into a shaker. Dark brown with some ruby highlights. Billowing light tan head. Some good lace. Still, the beer appears a bit thin to look at. The aroma and flavor features a pronounced vanilla character that comes off like candy. The flavor has some light chocolate and roasted notes, but I can’t get by the vanilla in the aroma. The palate is good. Silky and pretty full over the tongue. Thanks to BeerandBlues2 for the hookup. | 3.2 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 7/10 | 3/5 | 7/10 | 3/5 | 12/20 | Jan 14, 2009 12oz bottle from TheBeerSommelier - thanks, Matt! Pours surprisingly light, with substantial amounts of copper in the dark brown pour. Big fizzy head. The aroma is strong, but not quite how I remember this beer. Whereas I recall a smooth, slightly overpowering vanilla, this one actually recalls cream soda, with a slight metallic overtone. Taste is much more to expectations, with a thick mouthfeel that makes this less like beer than a candy delivery vehicle. This beer wants to grow up and become Southern Tier Creme Brulee. | 3.3 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 7/10 | 3/5 | 6/10 | 3/5 | 14/20 | Jan 24, 2006 Pours a dark maroon with a thin grey head. Aroma is cocoa, minerals, vanilla. Taste is vanilla extract up front, followed by just a touch of sourness. Finish is very pronounced with tons of creamy chocolate. Just a slight sweetness to this one, but tastes synthetic. Fairly well made though, especially for this brewery. sneagrams3 (1757), St. Louis, Missouri, USA
| 3.8 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 9/10 | 3/5 | 7/10 | 3/5 | 16/20 | Apr 24, 2006 12oz bottle. Dark brown hue. Lacing white head. Sweet vanilla malty nose. Dark chocolate. Slight coffee aroma. Reminds me of chocolate cake. Very nice! Immediate coffee flavor. Sugary caramel and fig notes. Pronounced vanilla flavor. Finish is mildly hoppy and slightly bitter. I thought that this was a quality product. Easy and delicious! lithy (1725), Knoxville, Tennessee, USA
| 3.2 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 6/10 | 3/5 | 6/10 | 3/5 | 14/20 | Feb 9, 2009 Dark dark brown red edges, thin tan head. Aroma is light roast, nuts and vanilla. Lots of vanilla in the flavor, some roast, chocolate, strange finish with the overpowering vanilla. jake65 (1725), Williston, North Dakota, USA
| 3.2 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 8/10 | 3/5 | 6/10 | 3/5 | 12/20 | Apr 23, 2007 Bottle: Pours a medium depth brown with a large beige head and lots of thick lacing. Nose is like a mocha, but with vanilla tones. Like the name implies, taste is plentiful with vanilla, some roasted malt and mocha flavors. So much on the sweeter side that its a bit one dimensional. Good intentions, just a bit overboard on the vanilla.
