Mild, sweet aroma. The beer was incredibly sweet with a lot of vanilla to it. I loved the vanilla flavor, and I think it was something a lot of people would enjoy. Very sweet. jb (1053), Rochester, New York, USA

Look is dark brown, orange highlights , minimal head. Speckly ’lacing.’ Palate has toasted notes, is nutty, hoppy, I like that the vanilla is understated. Not bad. Got it at Wegman’s in State College PA, variety pack. obguthr (1051), Poquoson, Virginia, USA
| 2.2 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 4/10 | 4/5 | 4/10 | 2/5 | 8/20 | Jun 23, 2007 Very light aroma of vanilla and cherry. Pours clear, dark reddish brown, with a medium off white head and decent glass coating. Earthy, mossy flavor, but not strong. Faint vanilla and hop finish. There are some good flavors with this beer, but someone needs to turn up the volume a bit and bring them out more. It’s just a little weak. crizay (1050), Brook Park (was Tampa,FL), Ohio, USA

Awesome tasting beer sure it’s on the thin side but to me that means I could drink this everyday, just an awesome sweet chocolate taste, some espresso, cocoa, but mostly a sweet milk chocolate, I guess from the vanilla touch but the vanilla isn’t there. | 3.4 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 7/10 | 3/5 | 7/10 | 3/5 | 14/20 | Apr 30, 2007 Deep brown with a small head. Can see light through the glass. Rich vanilla and chocolate aroma. Rich vanilla and chocolate taste. Vanilla and a bit of grassy hops and roasted nuts. I really like vanilla. I’ve even liked it in some dark beers. But this seems like a bit much. pintsize (1042), Austin, Texas, USA

Bubbly brown in color with nice foamy off-white head. Smells somewhat of burnt malt but mostly just generic vanilla and malt tones. Flavor is strange vanilla cocoa. Really becomes a hard beer to drink as the flavor is just unenjoyable and overly vanilla. Mouthfeel is average - a hint on the thin side. ben4321 (1040), Rockville, Maryland, USA

Have had this one quite a few times over the years, and I use to like this beer more, but something about it didn’t work the last few times I had it, maybe too sweet? I’m not sure exactly.
