Commercial Description:
Who would have thought deep in the jungles of Papua New Guinea and Madagascar grew the perfect ingredient to build an extraordinary Porter in Colorado? An ale that has all the chocolate and roasted nut flavor of a classic Porter, with an enigmatic surprise thrown in for good measure, real vanilla bean. Breckenridge Brewery’s Vanilla Porter. A vanilla kiss in a rich, dark sea.

Pours a deep, dark brown color with a thin tan head. Vanilla is definitely present in the aroma. Also some brown sugar and possibly molasses. Heavy vanilla presence in the flavor, as well as some roasted malt. A good balance, and done very well. One of the better porter’s I have had.

12 oz bottle. Chestnut looking pour with a nice light head and plentiful carbonation. Coffee, vanilla and cake aromas abound. The flavor is vanilla through the roof! It’s like a vanilla cream soda with light licorice and very light toasted malts. It’s almost too much (but one is fine). Creamy medium body with pleasant carbonation that does not distract. Good stuff, but very powerful in the vanilla category (minus one in the overall for the overpowering character).

Bottle. Pours dark brown with a small tan head. Aroma is of dark roast malts and light vanilla. Flavor is of medium chocolate with a great vanilla aftertaste. Interesting beer, love that vanilla. Thanks for the trade JB.

Pours a darker brown color with a thin tan head. Aroma is of chocolate, molasses, caramel, dark fruit, roasted malts, and vanilla. Flavor starts off the same with chocolate, roasted malts, and dark fruit. Finishes with vanilla and something strange I can’t quite put my finger on. Started off well but a little dissapointed in the finish on this brew.

this was some good stuff...pours black with little head...aroma is full of chocolates, vanilla, and strong coffee....flavor is the equivalent, and is quite tasty...a perfect vanilla bean, coffee, and chocolate balance....has nice roasted and smoke-like backbone...i want more

Bottle. Medium brown color with small lacing type head. Light roasted malty aroma. Taste is sweet with light vanilla and roasted malt. I think this is well done unlike some vanilla flavored brews that taste like vanilla extract.

12oz bottle. Deep Brown, with a thin white head. Aroma is weaker than i expected; vanilla is most prominant, with notes of cocoa and roasted malt. Tasty up front; the vanilla balance out the roasted malt nicely. However, i found the finish a bit sour and unpleasant. Good potential; I’d try it again.

Dark and porter-looking in the glass. Aromas are a bit of stale grains, also very natural smelling and tasting vanilla. Palate is very dry with a lot of roasted flavors, not so much chocolate or coffee. I had high hops for a creamy vanilla porter, but this brew sadly did not live up to expectations.
