| 2.8 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 4/10 | 3/5 | 6/10 | 2/5 | 13/20 | May 31, 2007 Pours, quite dark with a ncie dark head, malty aromas, very strong vanilla taste, I felt like I was sucking on vanilla bean most of the time. I would have prefered a little less vanilla taste, and more dark chocolate malts but hey thats my opinion. maybe a bit more structure on the palate too. 502Flavors (621), Louisville, Kentucky, USA

| 4.3 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 9/10 | 4/5 | 8/10 | 5/5 | 17/20 | Mar 6, 2006 A beautiful porter. Just the right blend of vanilla and perhaps a hint of chocolate make this the perfect post-skiing beverage. hezron (604), Viroqua, Wisconsin, USA
| 2.8 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 5/10 | 3/5 | 7/10 | 3/5 | 10/20 | May 21, 2006 Bottle, thanks to the guy at the liquor stop because he felt bad that they were out of Arrogent Bastard. Aroma of vanilla, minerals, touch of chocolate and more minerals...not very promising. Dark brown in color with an off-white head. Chocolaty flavor with a touch of roasted malt and lots of vanilla...not much else. Medium-full body, fairly creamy. sethdude (603), St. Louis, Missouri, USA
| 3.4 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 6/10 | 4/5 | 7/10 | 3/5 | 14/20 | May 9, 2007 Suprisingly not terrible. Pours a deep red, minimal head. Aroma is heavy vanilla, almost like chocolate ice cream and coffee. Flavor starts out nicely, big chocolate and coffee notes coated in a very smooth but strong vanilla flavor. About 2/3 of the way through, something starts to miss (I think it’s the vanilla meeting the hops) and things become fairly chemical-like, ending grassy with a dry tart on the tongue. | 3.7 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 8/10 | 5/5 | 7/10 | 3/5 | 14/20 | Apr 22, 2009 Dark brown with a decent tan foamy head. It has the smell of coffee and vanilla. A slight roasty, almost sour taste with a vanilla finish. I didn’t like this beer as much as I thought it would but it wasn’t too bad. Thaichile (599), 10aFly, New Jersey, USA
| 3.3 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 7/10 | 3/5 | 6/10 | 3/5 | 14/20 | Aug 25, 2008 Bottle. Pours a black coffee color with a thin tan head. Nose has some vanilla notes and has a sweetness to it. The vanilla became even more distant on the palate but the sweetness mellowed the overall deep roasted qualities of the brew. Although I am not a dark beer person, I have been liking those that are flavored and this was no different. Nice beer. Thanks to thiesti for this bottle. cathcacr (589), Portland, Oregon, USA
| 3.9 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 8/10 | 5/5 | 7/10 | 3/5 | 16/20 | Jan 30, 2007 I thoroughly enjoyed this for what it is, and what it is is something that would make for a great session beer. Love the sweet aroma on this one. Does get a bit watery toward the end like an English Porter.
I see that this rating isn’t much out of line with what I gave Stoney Creek’s Vanilla P. either (3.7). So I just like this style more than the average user, that’s all.
