| 3.7 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 8/10 | 5/5 | 7/10 | 3/5 | 14/20 | Apr 22, 2009 Dark brown with a decent tan foamy head. It has the smell of coffee and vanilla. A slight roasty, almost sour taste with a vanilla finish. I didn’t like this beer as much as I thought it would but it wasn’t too bad. Thaichile (599), 10aFly, New Jersey, USA
| 3.3 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 7/10 | 3/5 | 6/10 | 3/5 | 14/20 | Aug 25, 2008 Bottle. Pours a black coffee color with a thin tan head. Nose has some vanilla notes and has a sweetness to it. The vanilla became even more distant on the palate but the sweetness mellowed the overall deep roasted qualities of the brew. Although I am not a dark beer person, I have been liking those that are flavored and this was no different. Nice beer. Thanks to thiesti for this bottle. markas101 (597), Fargo, North Dakota, USA
| 3 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 6/10 | 3/5 | 6/10 | 3/5 | 12/20 | Sep 12, 2007 33 cl bottle, Fargo. Cola like appearance, with a head that lasts a bit longer. Medium malt aroma, Quite sweet, massive vanilla hit, then a sweet/bitter finished mingled with the vanilla. Not really my style but certainly worth a taste. cathcacr (592), Portland, Oregon, USA
| 3.9 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 8/10 | 5/5 | 7/10 | 3/5 | 16/20 | Jan 30, 2007 I thoroughly enjoyed this for what it is, and what it is is something that would make for a great session beer. Love the sweet aroma on this one. Does get a bit watery toward the end like an English Porter.
I see that this rating isn’t much out of line with what I gave Stoney Creek’s Vanilla P. either (3.7). So I just like this style more than the average user, that’s all.

| 3.8 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 8/10 | 3/5 | 8/10 | 3/5 | 16/20 | Feb 13, 2008 12 oz bottles. Have sampled on tap once, and bottled around six times. I waited for almost 2 years before I finally saw some of this in my beer hunting. This pours a dark brown with a creamy tan white head. Aroma of light milk chocolate and vanilla. WOW - this one is SWEET, but oh soooo good. The vanilla flavors blend excellently with the light roast of the porter and the light chocolate hints in the background. Very creamy body. This is like desert. I love this beer (seems to me more than most)!! henry3r (586), Wichita, Kansas, USA
| 3.2 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 6/10 | 3/5 | 7/10 | 3/5 | 13/20 | Nov 17, 2006 The 12 ounce bottle poured a clear, deep reddish brown beverage with a small fizzy head that did not last very long but left some lacing on the glass. The aroma was interesting to say the least. The major contributors were dark chocolate and roasted malt but there was a subtle contribution from the vanilla. The body was medium full with a soft carbonation and a somewhat smooth, creamy texture. The flavor starts off decidedly sweet with the vanilla presence obvious. A slightly bitter roasted grain character comes out in the middle and lasts through the medium-long finish. They did a nice job of not overdoing the vanilla thank goodness. wcampbell (584), Central, South Carolina, USA
| 2.8 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 5/10 | 3/5 | 5/10 | 3/5 | 12/20 | Feb 10, 2009 Decent porter with almost no noticeable vanilla. Toasty malt flavor which is well balanced and not too sweet. A little watery for a porter, also not creamy at all. Pretty weak and subpar overall. Not much aroma to speak of. No hops or spices at all. milljam (584), Norman, Oklahoma, USA
| 3.3 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 6/10 | 3/5 | 6/10 | 3/5 | 15/20 | Jan 30, 2009 Lots and lots of vanilla. Unfortunately, not much else. It was good at first, but the more I drank the less I liked it. Needs some more dimension.
