A smooth porter with light coffee-chocolate presence, and a very nicely done vanilla kick. Very smooth and drinkable, moderatly malty, and lightly bitter in the finish. Vanilla is noticeable but not overdone. I dont tend to be crazy about gimicky ingredients, but this is deffinatly one of the best porters I have ever had. Rynoplasty (547), Louisville, Kentucky, USA

Faint aromas of coffee, chocolate and vanilla on the nose. Flavor is roasty, with a little chocolate and vanilla sweetness. Not bad. dalekliz (546), San Diego, California, USA

| 3.2 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 8/10 | 3/5 | 6/10 | 3/5 | 12/20 | Feb 3, 2008 Crash and burn is the best way to describe this one. I LOVE Breckenridge’s Oatmeal Stout, and was really pumped for this one. Aroma is awesome; smells like a vanilla soda. Unfortunately, it kind of tastes like one as well. Image an A&W cream soda with alcohol in it. Same flavor, same stickiness, same carbonation. If that sounds like something you’d love, knock yourself out. As for me, if I want one of those, I’ll hit the soda machine. jvmiller (532), Bel Air, Maryland, USA
| 3.3 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 6/10 | 3/5 | 6/10 | 3/5 | 15/20 | Oct 21, 2007 Lots and lots of vanilla. Unfortunately, not much else. It was good at first, but the more I drank the less I liked it. Needs some more dimension. ansermadide (529), Kyle, Texas, USA
| 3.4 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 7/10 | 3/5 | 7/10 | 4/5 | 13/20 | Jan 2, 2009 12oz bottle at home on January 2, 2009. When I first poured this I thought there was no head. Funny, I thought I remembered head. Well, the head seemed to miraculously form after I poured. Must say something about itself. Not impressive at first, but it really grows on you. Its color is a thick, deep dark brown with a brown glow. Thin, bubbly lacing and an aroma that reminds me of something baking in the kitchen. Flavor also reminds me of baked goods. Vanilla not overpowering, but the addition of the standard roasted, nutty, and cocoa flavors make this a neat, and different beer. A little sweet at times, but definitely not overdone. Well-balanced. Thin, but with a bold finish. Illini08 (528), Raleigh, North Carolina, USA
| 3.2 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 6/10 | 3/5 | 6/10 | 3/5 | 14/20 | Dec 14, 2006 The second Vanilla Porter I’ve had. Dark pour, sugary malt and vanilla aroma. Apparent subtlety wasn’t what they were going for when they added the vanilla beans. The vanilla just seemed to overwhelm the rest of the beer. Some chocolate and roasted nutty flavors in there as well like any porter will have, but just too strong on the vanilla for me.
