Commercial Description:
Who would have thought deep in the jungles of Papua New Guinea and Madagascar grew the perfect ingredient to build an extraordinary Porter in Colorado? An ale that has all the chocolate and roasted nut flavor of a classic Porter, with an enigmatic surprise thrown in for good measure, real vanilla bean. Breckenridge Brewery’s Vanilla Porter. A vanilla kiss in a rich, dark sea.

This beer pours black with little to no head. This beer is quite strong on the vanilla. A little to strong if you ask me! I can taste the roasted coffee and chocolate in this thing but it gets overpowered by the vanilla... This would have been a much better beer had the vanilla not overtaken the chocolate and coffee’s. I still like it though. Cheers!

12oz. Pours boarding on black with a tan head. I can’t get over how much this smells and tastes like cross between a black cherry and cream soda. There was some black cherry in the nose as well as a few notions of roasted coffee. This was borderline offensive chilled, much more palatable as it warmed to room temperature. I still felt like the vanilla was more of an afterthought and was not well integrated with any sort of roasted malt that I think would have balanced out the vanilla.

Just misses. Pours like a porter should, thinner than you think in mouthfeel, with just a hint of vanilla. Not quite better than average.

Pours a dark deep reddish-brown with a medium tan head thats leaves a slight bit of lacing... Aroma of mild vanilla, a slim bit of chocolate and coffee, and a hint of roasted malts and a touch of a spice i cant place.... Taste is of watery coffee with a touch of chocolate then a shot of vanilla, but not in an overpowering way... I feel like the vanilla compensates for the thinness of the mouthfeel in a way that redeems the beer...

12 oz bottle. There’s a place on the lable for the bottled on date to be notched, but it’s not.

Dark brown with ruby hues. Thick tan head and nice lacing.

Aroma is vanilla cake and a touch of molasses.

Flavor is a lot like vanilla coke with some blackstrap molasses thrown in.

Ok, but I don’t think I could drink more than one.

12oz bottle (thanks to shigadeyo) poured a deep brownish red color with a tiny light tan head. Aroma had small notes of vanilla along with chocolate. The flavor was more of a vanilla soda than a beer. Super light body and not much carbonation. Overall I think the vanilla was good they just need to change the base recipe.

pours a dark brown with slight off-white head. aroma left something to be desired, maybe i was looking for more vanilla? flavor wasn’t all that complex, again, i think i missed the vanilla. aftertaste was slightly metallic. not a bad beer by any means, and was very drinkable but i felt it was missing something.

Pours black with half inch tan head. Mild aroma of roasted malts, plums and a hint of vanilla. Flavor was roasted malts, molasses, mild cocoa and a semi-sweet vanilla finish. Interesting beer.
