This one pours a deep, opaque sable with a fairly thick light tan head. Aroma is smoky and coffee-ish with an overtone of vanilla, a little like coffee with vanilla flavored cream added. Flavor is strongly of fine roast coffee with a sweet vanilla overtone. Texture is very smooth, almost flat and just a little fizzy.

Dec 15, 2009 beautiful sweet vanilla bean aroma mixed with some toasted notes. Very dark pour with a nice frothy tan head. Very delicious sweetness of the anilla mixed with some toasted bread notes. Absolutely delicious.

Dec 11, 2009 Tap at a local restaurant - you pretty much need to love vanilla to like this beer, as it is almost all that I really taste - don’t get me wrong, it compliments the beer’s creamy body, and light hints of roasted malt, but that vanilla is sure potent - some notes of black malt and a hint of maple way in the back - rather full-flavored for a low ABV brew - just soooo much vanilla.

Dec 6, 2009 I’m just getting into the porters and this is drinkable. I’m not sure if that is a good sign or a bad one though. Not much vanilla note to me. Very flat w/ no foam.

Dec 2, 2009 12 oz. bottle. Pours a coca cola brown with a reddish hue, decent frothy light brown head, good lacing. Aroma is roasted malts, nuts, coffee, and vanilla. Flavor is vanilla, caramel and roasted malts, and a touch of chocolate. Mouthfeel is thin for a porter, creamy, and a roasted bitterness at the end. Pretty good, a little too much sweetness.

Nov 19, 2009 Bottle. Pours dark brown with a small tan head. Aroma is of dark roast malts and light vanilla. Flavor is of medium chocolate with a great vanilla aftertaste. Interesting beer, love that vanilla. Thanks for the trade JB.

Nov 19, 2009 I thought this was good overall porter, delicately Sweet, roasted malt, not a lot of backbone or hop balance, but good enough to get again, rather flat looking light tan head.

Nov 18, 2009 Tastes like a very neutral dark ale with a bit of vanilla extract. It doesn’t taste bad, but it leaves a lot to be desired.
