Poured a dark brown with small, light tan head that quickly receded into a thin foamy cap. Nice light lacing. A very nice sweet flavor of roasted malt, sweet chocolate, molasses, light vanilla. A very nice bitter sweet medium finish. Very pleasant. Light body, thin, slighly oily texture, with a soft to medium carbonation. A very pleasant Porter, although a touch more vanilla would’ve been nice. I really enjoyed and will definitely buy again. Served in a Stein. mjholla82 (3), Ohio, USA does not count | 4.7 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 9/10 | 5/5 | 10/10 | 4/5 | 19/20 | May 31, 2008 This was my very first try at a vanilla porter, and i throughly enjoyed it. The scent of vanilla is prominent in the first smell. The pour is dark brown with a thin tan head. The taste is strong vanilla, with a hint of chocolate with roasted malts. Flavor was of course vanilla, malty, coffeeish, with a hint of chocolate and maybe even some fruit... You know, maybe this is one of the best BEERS I have had period. A "pow" of vanilla aroma. Cookies is in a glass is my first impression ... but superbly delicious. The wife loved it. rojinn (3), USA does not count | 4.5 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 8/10 | 5/5 | 9/10 | 5/5 | 18/20 | Jun 4, 2006 Amazingly smooth and malty. This is a subtle, complex beer with a fantastic finish. Other reviewers can’t decide if the vanilla is too strong or too weak. Well I say it’s just right. Coffee malt is more apparent than vanilla bean. Trust me, this is a porter you can enjoy all night. I’ve had it in the bottle and on draft, and I was amazed at how well the bottle holds its own. Pouring this one’s half the fun: a rich, dark brown with an attractive, creamy tan top. The vanilla flavor is pronounced, but definitely take a moment just to savor the smell. Some other people have mentioned the dark malts: they’re right. You’ll also find some chocolate and coffee in the flavor; the vanilla compliments both nicely. The finish isn’t too long for my tastes, but I’ve talked to some people who thought it lingered. It’s not the lightest beer in the world, but I am repeatedly suprised that it’s not as heavy as it looks. Then again, I’m a sucker for porters. Ambrose (141), East Aurora, New York, USA

An ale that has all the chocolate and roasted nut flavor of an extroadinary Porter, with an enigmatic electrical surprise tossed in for good measure, real genuine vanilla bean. It has a vanilla kiss in a fantastically rich, dark sea. I dedicate this beer to zack and cat, may they have many good years of marriage untill they grow sick and tired of each other and die old and grouchy together. Wakie (612), Centreville, Virginia, USA
