Commercial Description:
Who would have thought deep in the jungles of Papua New Guinea and Madagascar grew the perfect ingredient to build an extraordinary Porter in Colorado? An ale that has all the chocolate and roasted nut flavor of a classic Porter, with an enigmatic surprise thrown in for good measure, real vanilla bean. Breckenridge Brewery’s Vanilla Porter. A vanilla kiss in a rich, dark sea.

Its been a while since I have had a porter and can hardly wait for this one. Nice dark body with red highlights and a medium dark tan head. Aroma is sweet and malty with a bit of molasses. Flavor is delicious. Sweet malts with lots of roasted notes. The vanilla is subtle but has a pleasant impact. Chocolate flavor is a dry dark variety. Some dark fruit shows up late. This is such a drinkable beer!

Enjoyed this on tap @ the Smokehouse in Cowlumbus for my friend Aaron’s birthday (in Novemeber I think). It was one of the brewpub’s "guest" offerings. Nose of vanilla, malt, and molasses. Vanilla becomes dominant as brew warms. The brew is dark brown with ruby highlights. The creamy tan head leaves light lace. The front is roasted malt with light acidity. The grainy toasted finish is bold. The full body is soft & dry. The finish feels clean.

Sampled on 4/18/2009. This porter pours a deep brown color from a 12oz bottle. Small sized white foamy head. The aroma is chocolate and coffee with a touch of vanilla. A medium bodied Porter. The malts are chocolate and coffee. The hops are earthy. There is just a touch of vanilla in this beer. It complements the roasty malts and coffee flavors very well. For a chance a beer that uses vanilla in a good way in a beer. Nice balance. Good carbonation. Mouthfeel is full and round. Finish is clean and smooth. Aftertaste is slightly sweet.

Dark Brown with Cream Ring. Light Roasted Malts and Real Rich Vanilla Notes on the Nose. Heavy Mouthfeel..Very Creamy. Nice Thick Malty Body with Mild Roasts and Sweet Almost Syrupy Vanilla Overtones. Ends Bittersweet and Lightly Roasted. Very Nice. Obtained This Bottle Directly From Colorado...HAVE noted that Breckenridge’s Beers Don’t Ship to Minnesota Well At all.

This beer pours a nice dark, toasty brown with very little head. Aroma and flavor are predominantly vanilla, but has a nice roasted tone to it. Not very complex, but drinkable.

Bottle: Black as night, large foamy sand colored head, fairly nice lacing.   Nose is spot on with Tapioca Pudding.   Pale roasted malts, sweet chocolate, and HEAPS of vanilla on the tongue.   This probably has the most vanilla I have ever tasted.   Not a big Porter, but certainly unique, and quite sweet (but not cloying).   Body and mouthfeel are average.   Vanilla oriented chocolate malt finish.   This is a definite dessert beer.   Very little hop presense, moreso the chocolate malt and vanilla.   Pretty tasty...

(Bottle) Pours a dark brown body with a medium-sized tan head. Aroma of wood, chocolate, and vanilla extract. Flavor of vanilla and chocolate. Palate is a bit thin.
