Not as good. Slight vanilla flavor near finish but hardly anything up front that resembles vanilla - more of just a sweet sugary taste but wouldn’t call it vanilla. Might buy again but wouldn’t recommend to anyone else. spclerk (47), Minnesota, USA

Pours very very dark mahogany with a nice head (which diminishes quickly) and lots of lacing. Aroma is great, chocolate, coffee, and (surprise) vanilla. Tastes great as well, the vanilla doesn’t overwhelm but complements the coffee and chocolate flavors nicely. Mouthfeel maybe a bit watery but a really good beer and so far my favorite from Breckenridge. BuckeyeBoy (1689), Boise, Idaho, USA

Aroma of vanilla along with a vanilla tast. This is the first vanilla beer I have had it was not to bad. daknole (3028), Scottsdale, Arizona, USA
| 3.5 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 7/10 | 4/5 | 7/10 | 3/5 | 14/20 | May 20, 2008 Bottle, thanks to unclemike. Pours a see thru dark reddish brown. Small tan head. Aroma is vanilla and mabye even a hint of bourbon in the nose. Flavor is pretty rich...vanilla, bourbon, malty, and smooth. Some sweetness would make this a beer that I could only drink one per sitting, but I like it. smooch (114), Sylvania, Ohio, USA

I’m not sure if that is a good sign or a bad one though. Not much vanilla note to me. Very flat w/ no foam. deyholla (746), Bloomington, Indiana, USA
| 3.5 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 6/10 | 4/5 | 8/10 | 3/5 | 14/20 | May 29, 2009 Bottle. Poured dark brown with an off-white head. Aroma was filled with notes of dark chocolate and coffee notes. Maybe some vanilla but didn’t pick up too much. The vanilla however is definitely present in the flavor and while a bit overpower compliments the dark flavors well. matthewjk (76), Cincinnati, Ohio, USA
| 3.5 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 7/10 | 4/5 | 7/10 | 2/5 | 15/20 | Nov 17, 2009 Enjoyed this one on tap and from bottle on the same day! This porter might have been supurb if it had a better malt / hop balance. The vanilla is very nice, but it can’t compensate for a mediocre base. I must say, however, it is quite drinkable and would purchase again. On tap is a little better. CitizenZ (23), Kansas, USA
| 3.5 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 6/10 | 4/5 | 8/10 | 2/5 | 15/20 | Sep 22, 2009 Thin pour producing no head which makes sense since there is very little carbonation in this dark brown beer. It has a delightful fruity and chocolate aroma and the vanilla is much more apparent to the nose than the taste. Chocolaty vanilla dark roasted malt goodness where the vanilla becomes more and more prominent in the follow through than on the tip of the tongue. Its a properly decent interesting porter.
