Commercial Description:
Who would have thought deep in the jungles of Papua New Guinea and Madagascar grew the perfect ingredient to build an extraordinary Porter in Colorado? An ale that has all the chocolate and roasted nut flavor of a classic Porter, with an enigmatic surprise thrown in for good measure, real vanilla bean. Breckenridge Brewery’s Vanilla Porter. A vanilla kiss in a rich, dark sea.

Bottle poured a clear, dark reddish brown with a small, diminishing tan head. Aromas of coffee and vanilla. Palate was medium bodied and smooth. Flavors of cola, coffee, vanilla and a hint of smoke with a dry lingering semisweet finish.

Courtesy of Fonefan. Dark brown with a red hue and a nice head. The vanilla aroma is very clean and nice, and I also find notes of roasted malt and a little coffee. The flavour has a vanilla-sweetness, notes of roasted malt, light coffee and a roasted bitterness in the finish. It’s a nice vanilla porter, not cloying as many other vanilla porters/stouts, and it has a lot of flavour in spite of the only 4,7%.

Pours a dark ruby brown with a medium tan head. Aroma is dark roast coffee and vanilla. Flavour continued with roast coffee and a burnt malt bitterness with a strong vanilla throughout. A little too sweet overall for extended drinking. Glad I got a single 12oz and not an entire 6 pack.

Vanilla and roastines sprominent in the aroma, smells nice. Taste has caramel, vanilla, herbs, and unfortunately some oxidation. Wish the mouthfeel had a creamy feel to it, but its not a big deal. Overall the vanilla taste rules, it overpowers almost all the over flavors, but it doesnt seem to bother me, but it would be a lot better if not oxidized.

Bottle poured black with small head and lacing. Light aroma of chocolate, malt, caramel. Flavor is a bit metalic with hints of roast, chocolate and maybe a little vanilla on the finish.
Not bad.

It’s a bit thin and finishes on a watery note, but otherwise I like it. Deep brown, almost black, and nearly headless, its aroma is taken over by the vanilla sitting atop a slightly roasted, sweet malt base. A bit of chocolate is added to the flavor along with a drop or two of cola and a mild nutty bitterness. Very tasty, drinkable... and thin.

12oz. bottle. Chocolate and vanilla aromas. Dark body but held to light a deep red color with tan head. Flavor was like a chocolate vanilla cream soda. High level of carbination as to why I say soda not beer. Nonetheless a decent refreshment while watching some baseball games.

Deep brown color with a slim, cream-colored skin & halo. Starts with a cream soda/root beer aroma which all but cover some roasty notes. A lot of vanilla in flavor with malts that taste sweet and pale rather than dark and roasted. Vibrant mouthfeel thins-out a mid-syrupy body, yet the finish hangs like a swallow of cough syrup. Weak coffee bitters in the aftertaste. Interesting.
