I think it’s a perfect blend of the two. If you don’t like vanillia, this is not your beer. As far as the porter side goes not sure how it would stand on it’s own without the flavoring, but I guess that doesn’t matter. milljam (584), Norman, Oklahoma, USA
| 3.3 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 6/10 | 3/5 | 6/10 | 3/5 | 15/20 | Jan 30, 2009 Lots and lots of vanilla. Unfortunately, not much else. It was good at first, but the more I drank the less I liked it. Needs some more dimension. WickerBrew (312), Chicago, Illinois, USA

Sweet desert beer that went down smooth. Not too thick, I was able to take down 2 bottles. Probably not a high enough ABV, but it might get too big then. arkurzynski (100), West Bend, Wisconsin, USA
| 3.3 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 7/10 | 3/5 | 6/10 | 3/5 | 14/20 | Oct 17, 2009 Pours deep brown with thin off-white head. Light vanilla aroma. Base aroma of roasted malts and a whisp of smoke. Flavor is roasted malts with a little bit of an acidic aftertaste. Vanilla flavor is present, but gives it just a touch of chemical flavor. checkmatei1 (630), Willow Grove, Pennsylvania, USA

It had the aroma of roasted chocolate covered peanuts. The taste was a thick vanilla coffee. This had a nice vanilla finish to. Not bad. jeff789 (411), Pennsylvania, USA
| 3.3 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 6/10 | 4/5 | 7/10 | 3/5 | 13/20 | Jan 12, 2009 Pours a dark deep reddish-brown with a medium tan head thats leaves a slight bit of lacing... Aroma of mild vanilla, a slim bit of chocolate and coffee, and a hint of roasted malts and a touch of a spice i cant place.... Taste is of watery coffee with a touch of chocolate then a shot of vanilla, but not in an overpowering way... I feel like the vanilla compensates for the thinness of the mouthfeel in a way that redeems the beer... bigtaster (184), Grand Rapids, USA
| 3.3 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 7/10 | 4/5 | 6/10 | 3/5 | 13/20 | May 5, 2008 Pours black with red-brown hues and a small tan head, some lacing. Weird warm malty aroma with banana, vanilla. Quick hit of alcohol even though it is only 4.7% then a quickly receding flavor of smoke, vanilla and, caramel. Leaves a undesired aftertaste hindering my yearning to keep drinking. Altogether not bad. johnnyoski (163), Macomb, Michigan, USA
| 3.3 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 7/10 | 3/5 | 7/10 | 3/5 | 13/20 | Aug 27, 2009 Bottle. Pours dark brown with a red hue and an average sized off white head. Vanilla bean, smokey aroma. Roasty, sweet cream initial flavor with soft hints of vanilla, finishes slightly burnt and bitter. Body is a little thin and lacking carbonation. Creamy, watery texture. Good, but it could be even better.
