Commercial Description:
Who would have thought deep in the jungles of Papua New Guinea and Madagascar grew the perfect ingredient to build an extraordinary Porter in Colorado? An ale that has all the chocolate and roasted nut flavor of a classic Porter, with an enigmatic surprise thrown in for good measure, real vanilla bean. Breckenridge Brewery’s Vanilla Porter. A vanilla kiss in a rich, dark sea.

Pours a dark maroon with a thin grey head. Aroma is cocoa, minerals, vanilla. Taste is vanilla extract up front, followed by just a touch of sourness. Finish is very pronounced with tons of creamy chocolate. Just a slight sweetness to this one, but tastes synthetic. Fairly well made though, especially for this brewery.

Draft @ the Breckenridge brewpub: Poured a clear very dark chestnut brown with an off-white head. The aroma is of milk chocolate and vanilla with a light roast. The flavor had some roasted malt with an artificial vanilla taste. Semi-sweet finish with a light-medium body.

Got this one bottled at the Binny’s Oktoberfest in St. Charles, Illinois. Dark brown pour, nose of chocolate and vanilla, taste of tapioca pudding. This one was unusual.

Clear deep brown/ruby red color with small light tan head. Aroma is nutty, fair amount of caramel, hint of cherry and maybe peat, creamy vanilla. Flavor has lots of vanilla, decent amount of caramel, bit of highly kilned malt and chocolate. Finish is relatively sweet

Bottle. Creamed amaretto, vanilla, almonds and chocolate in the nose, perfume-like at times but overall enjoyable. Smooth and resinous texture is welcomed. Vanilla is heavy but fresh, vibrant and delicious. Roast is minimal, little to no bitterness, little to no astringency. Could benefit from some more roast malt character, but overall it is a decent desert beer when consumed fresh.

Lots and lots of vanilla. Unfortunately, not much else. It was good at first, but the more I drank the less I liked it. Needs some more dimension.

This wasnt all that bad, too be honest I wasnt expecting much. Sweet desert beer that went down smooth. Not too thick, I was able to take down 2 bottles. Probably not a high enough ABV, but it might get too big then.
