Pours a very dark amber brown, almost cola like with a medium creamy white beige head. Aroma of vanilla Coke and malts. Taste is like drinking a vanilla cola with roasted faint malts. Nothing special here.

I’m kind of not sure what to say about this. Typical dark colour with a thin but tenacious head. Typical roasty aroma with maybe a tiny hint of vanilla in there. The flavour is again a typical roasted chocolate/coffee porter with some smooth and semi sweet vanilla to round it out.

This beer pours with a thin, creamy head that dissipates. The beer is a dark color, from far away you might mistake it for a stout, but when held up to the light you can see its dark copper color. The aroma has some hints of malt, I don’t sense any hops in the aroma. The flavor is malty, with little hop character and the vanilla hints remind me of vanilla coke....kinda of in the aftertaste and a little extra sweetness. The body is medium, with a British carbonation level. I think this is a good pairing of flavors with the vanilla not overpowering. This is not a beer that I would drink three of, but it is enjoyable once in a while to have something different.

A Sim rate (on tap at Flying Saucer, Houston): Not much in the aroma. Some chocolate and a bit of cream, but it really needs much much more. I even tried to smell it away from the rocket tots... nothin’! The flavour is oh so much better. It’s vanilla, chocolate, some cream, but mostly brandy and bitter malt. It’s good, but not balanced enough.

Bottle. Clear dark brown color with tan head that laced the glass. Aroma was of malty molasses. Tasted like a mixture of cream soda, milk chocolate, and vanilla. Strange combination, but not bad.

Bottle. Pours dark brown/black, cola like with a thin wispy white head. Aroma is mostly vanilla bean. Same with the flavor, mostly sweet vanilla, but there is enough caramel and dark roast in there to keep it from getting out of wack. The finish is a tad ashy, along with some mild peppery bitterness. A little too sweet and overpowering vanilla for my tastes.

Dark brown color. Subtle aroma of vanilla, chocolate and paper. Heavy vanilla taste that was almost overwhelming. Worth a try if you are looking for something different.

Medium mouthfeel: cheap vanilla character (like oak chips) in a roasted malt and milk chocolate base; pleasant sweetness and vanilla bean creaminess, in an otherwise uneventful porter; slightly oily and viscous. Creamy, vanilla bean and milk chocolate finish.
