Feb 6, 2007 Slight head cold, but I tried this one anyways. Even though I couldnt breath very well, all I got was vanilla! Tons of vanilla flavor and then the roasted qualities. My friends all agreed, so my sense of taste could not have been far off. A tad thin for a winter beer.... needs some more malt to beef up the body and alcohol percentage. Really just an average porter with an unaverage ingredient.

Apr 23, 2007 Bottle: Pours a medium depth brown with a large beige head and lots of thick lacing. Nose is like a mocha, but with vanilla tones. Like the name implies, taste is plentiful with vanilla, some roasted malt and mocha flavors. So much on the sweeter side that its a bit one dimensional. Good intentions, just a bit overboard on the vanilla.

Feb 9, 2009 Dark dark brown red edges, thin tan head. Aroma is light roast, nuts and vanilla. Lots of vanilla in the flavor, some roast, chocolate, strange finish with the overpowering vanilla.

Sep 12, 2008 Dark brown with beige head. Medium smoky roasted malt aroma. The vanilla is subtle. Roasted malt, semi-sweet chocolate flavor with a bit more bitterness than I anticipated (this is actually for the best). The vanilla hits in the middle-end of the taste and lingers. Can see how it could be a bit cloying, but I liked it. Medium body. Overall, an average porter, but the vanilla adds an interesting dimension. Not an everyday beer but for the right occasion, pretty decent.

Aug 4, 2008 Variety 6 from Woodman’s. One hell of an interesting beer. Smooth as hell. The vanilla just rolls over your tongue with a nice roasty porter taste in there too, but nothing on the palate left me desiring more from this one.

Oct 4, 2008 Pours a dark brown with a thin tan head. Aroma is actually a bit unpleasant. The taste is better. Chocolate, coffee, and some cherry with an underlying vanilla flavor. A pretty enjoyable beer.

Apr 5, 2009 Pours dark brown with a small tan head and decent lacing. Light in taste and mouthfeel, but still tasty. Very subtle vanilla flavor (to the point that I was disappointed since it is a vanilla porter). Not a bad beer, but nothing to write home about.
