eczematic (1172), Sydney, Australia Sep 30, 2008 Brown-orange with chill haze, low carb and thin white head that sticks. Smell is fresh bread and tropical fruit and vanilla. Warm and full english malt flavour and tangy us and nz hops, passionfruit jam spread on brown bread. Good bitterness balanced all the way with malt body. Big flavours balanced well, a good aussie compromise between english and american styles. gam (618), brisbane, Australia Sep 14, 2008 Large frothy head on an amber pour, medium carbonation.Aroma hoppy, fruity, mildmalt, perfumed floral, peach, citrus.Flavour citrus bitter, maltiness, stone fruit backing, mellow easy drinking.Sweetness is good, grapefruit note.Do,in well the boys, good pale ale.Finish bitter/sweet slight tang, more the better. Chrism86 (114), Melbourne, Australia Aug 24, 2008 Updated: Aug 26, 2008Poured hazy amber tending to copper. Substantial off white head that dissapates quite quickly. Aromas are appealing, but perhaps a bit simple. Sweet malt present with apricot and some citrus fruit. Palate shows more of the same, very one dimensional. Sweet apricot, with some piney hop notes, thats about it. Finish is short, overall palate seems thin. bluevegie (1814), Perth, Australia Jul 20, 2008 Almost clear, honey/amber body with a compact but lasting head. Hops on the nose upfront that carries through to the taste without overpowering. Good beer but not always my favourite style. sinkas (175), Perth/Fremantle, Australia Jul 12, 2008 Bottle (640ml) Carlisle Wine Bin, WA
Aroma of mild american hops, poured a rather hazy deep amber, excellent malty mouthfeel, with a refreshing crips finish. One of the best Aussie APA’s I have tasted.
