Commercial Description:
Unfiltered and naturally carbonated German style dark beer with a roasted malt flavour and a clean dark pilsner style finish. A rich tasting beer with a great head and lots of flavour.

On tap at the Amsterdam Rhino. Dark amber, clear, moderate off-white head. Low aroma, caramel and maybe some choolate (but that’s really reaching). Pretty standard caramel malt palate without much alse to comment on. Like a cheapy amber more than anything.

[824-20071105] Tap @ Amsterdam Rhino (Calgary, AB; called "Dam Rhino"). A little sweet yeast aroma with grains. Clear, dark amber brown body with a medium-lasting creamy light grey-tinged head. Flavour is mostly grainy malt and hay with some banana notes. Medium body. Average.

November 2007. Draft @ Amsterdam Rhino as "Dam Rhino". Dark brown body with a small tan head. Mild roast and sweet malt aroma. Flavour has a light strange bitterness underlying caramel malt. Average to thin palate. 6/3/5-6/3/12 - 3.0

Draft. Served with almost no head. Attractive very dark brown with plenty of ruby highlights. Roasted malt aroma. Soft mouth feel. Light powdery roasted coffee and chocolate flavour.
