brentfeesh (1030), Gadsden, Alabama, USA Sep 27, 2008 22oz bottle. I’ve got to believe this is what I’ve had as it said Belgian Golden but this is the only thing close to what I think it was. Very malty first and foremost. The aroma also has a touch of pepper. The flavor follows suit with plenty of sweet malt, candy, marshmallow, and a bit of pepper. I don’t usually like this kind of thing but this time it works well. Not to style in any way but very enjoyable. kujo9 (1077), North Ridgeville, Ohio, USA Jul 8, 2005 22 oz bomber: Deep gold w/ some haziness and a short lived white head. Some very light banana esters and peppery yeast w/ hints of over ripe green grapes in the aroma. Some grainy malt and the coriander is very, very, light. Orange peel is non existant in the aroma. Light alcohol scent. The flavor, for a tripel, is a bit on the bland side. The grainy malt flavor is the most predominant, and light at the start, but there is an herbal hop flavor and bitterness, along with some dry bitterness and flavor from the citrus peel in finish and aftertaste. Between the start and finish is sort of a muddle of spices an of nothing really. Low carbonation for a tripel IMHO, light alcohol presence, but not overwhelming, lighter medium body, and a bit dry. Drinkable but not outstanding
