On tap ate the Oakroom in Athens. Left over from Ohio Brew Week I suspect. Dark, with a creamy tan head. Smoky aroma. Light body, (not sure what an "Imperial Porter" really is -- a stout?) smoky flavor. Not too bad for an unknown style.

8/07/2007: Ringneck Imperial Porter is clear, dark brown with a light tan head that leaves light lacing on the glass. The aroma is light chocolate and roasted malt. The flavor is pretty hoppy (citrus) and bitter with some chocolate in the finish. This beer is smooth and has a medium body. A nice, robust porter.

Draught (pint) at The Brew Kettle in Stongsville, Ohio. Rating #4 for this beer...

Thin body...no mouthfeel pleasure...but a bunch of wonderful toasted caramel, nutty, woody notes. A lot of nice flavors for such a light porter. (Tap, Brew Kettle, 2/10/07)

On tap @ Brew Kettle: Black with a smooth khaki head. Aroma, faint chocolate, coffee, and some roasted notes. Flavor, coffee, some bittersweet chocolate, but it’s tough to pick up much from it. Very smooth thin mouthfeel, almost milky. Not their best.
