Average. nihar (68), Ohio, USA Jul 19, 2007 At Skippers for Ohio Brew Week... plenty of hops and bitterness make this beer a nice summer treat... Cornfield (4892), Oak Forest, Illinois, USA Apr 2, 2007 This is a good looking ale, a bright copper body with a tall & rocky pale khaki head that laces in chunks. There’s a sweetness in the aroma that’s nearly buried by scents of pine, grapefruit, and tart tangerine. A thick, sweet caramel is balanced by bitter flavors of pine, grapefruit and the finish maintains that balance. Had it been a tad more bitter I’d have rated it higher. Still, a quaffable IPA.

frankenkitty (1900), Oak Lawn, Illinois, USA Mar 29, 2007 An eager pour produced a three-finger, ecru head that fell slowly and laced in a frothy spackle above a copper-penny body. Big grapefruit nose, lemony soap, light injection-mold-plastic notes. Resiny, grapefruity flavor with a malty sweetness I wished for in Ringneck’s 4C’s Pale Ale. Dry palate with astringence after. It’s a decent IPA and I find it hard to believe that no other RateBeerians have sampled this since ’05.
22 oz. bomber from The Brew Kettle Strongsville, OH 44136
bkelley68 (467), Lakewood, Ohio, USA Jun 10, 2005 Bottle: Dark mahogany pour. Aroma shows some toasted malt, carmel, slight pine and resin. Light carbonation. Woody, malty, slightly sweet flavors are there, but this is really muddy and cluttered on the palate. Though there is a bitter touch to the finish, this really was missing the crispness and big hops I look for in an IPA.
