Also a hint of licoroce. Medium bodied with a slightly creamy mouthfeel. Lively carbonation. Bitter finish. The aroma is lightly roasted and the flavour is mildy roasted and lightly dry. Overall a reasonable plain but strong stout. Ungstrup (10824), Frederiksberg, Denmark Apr 3, 2008 Bottled. A pitch black beer with a fast disappearing chocolate brown head. The aroma is sweet with strong notes of hops and grapefruit as well as notes of roasted malt. The flavor has notes of roasted malt and dark bitter chocolate with a dry roasted finish, that is acompanied by a slight hop acid burn in the throat. Thanks to Papsoe for hauling this home from NZ. KimJohansen (2304), Copenhagen V, Denmark Mar 30, 2008 Black with tiny beige head. Sweet aroma with notes of roasted malt and coffee. The somewhat sweet flavor goes same way. Ends sweet and light bitter.
