Cask at the brewpub with Harrisoni and ChrisO & Reakt, 9th April 2008. Hazy amber in colour with little aroma. Taste-wise, it’s a dry, hoppy session bitter that’s rather restrained.

Cask at the brewpub. An orange beer with a thin white head. The aroma is sweet malty with notes of caramel and brew mash, like a steeping mash tun. The flavor is sweet with notes of caramel, leading to a bitter, hoppy, and dry end.

Cask at Brewpub. Partly cloudy golden-copper body with a very small white head. Generic malt character. Lacks hop presence, especially for a Bitter. Some citrus notes and almost no bitterness. Name was changed to Wharf Ordinary, there was a big sign at the bar that read “In anger about the closure of London’s oldest brewery our Wharf Bitter shall now be named Wharf Ordinary and our Wharf Best shall become Wharf Special”. And ordinary it was.
