Color is an orange amber with low carbonation and a thin wisp of a head. Aroma is sweet with honey and molasses. Taste is like a sweet Scottish ale. Starting with a lighter medium body it goes down soft with a flat feel. Finish has a malty sweetness that caries flavors of molasses, toffee and a hint of maple, then a peppery nut like taste that gives way to a moderate bitterness. In the after taste the bitterness fades out slowly, leaving you with a pepper and honey taste. Interesting brew that would be better if the carbonation was a little more active.

| 3.7 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 8/10 | 3/5 | 7/10 | 4/5 | 15/20 | Dec 31, 2009 Bottle, as Speed Ball. Starting off quite ordinary, pouring a clear, golden body and a small, beige head, this beer soon reveals it’s different. Peppery, hoppy nose with pinecones and caramel, but not the usual hoppy pepperyness. The flavor isn’t as pronounced as the aroma, but also nice, with the same elements, and a fine peppery, bitter finish. Medium to full body. An unusual beer, but a very nice one. 090925 blipp (1765), Newark, New Jersey, USA

| 3.5 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 6/10 | 4/5 | 7/10 | 3/5 | 15/20 | Dec 27, 2009 A deep copper colored beer, with no head. Aroma- vegetal, light hop, metal, spices. Taste-strong herbal notes, cola. Like some bizarre herbal tea. Barley comes through in the finish. Like tasting a nursery. Or a field of flowers. DJMonarch (6941), Northwich, Cheshire, England
