A class A strong ale, brewed with guarana, Californian poppy, kola nut and Scottish heather honey. A conspiracy of trans-continental ingredients infused with some devastatingly BrewDog imaginative thinking.

Oxidized aroma, old orange peel, balsa wood. Not in a bad way. Amber, sandy head. Drinking this much too fast. I don’t know what guarana tastes like, but I’m always glad to ingest it. Mild and a little plain all around, little caramel, nothing special. But there are herbs that provide a dry finish. Orange peel, dried leaves. Sweet, grassy, simple. Don’t get any of the herbs, probably never will. Still, should have been called speedball.

Bottle, as Speed Ball. Starting off quite ordinary, pouring a clear, golden body and a small, beige head, this beer soon reveals it’s different. Peppery, hoppy nose with pinecones and caramel, but not the usual hoppy pepperyness. The flavor isn’t as pronounced as the aroma, but also nice, with the same elements, and a fine peppery, bitter finish. Medium to full body. An unusual beer, but a very nice one. 090925

Bottle. Pours orange with an off white head. Sweet fruity and nutty aroma. The flavor starts sweet, with notes of nuts, toast and a light honey sweetness. Finished with toasted grains and a little floraly/herbal bitterness. Pretty good.

A deep copper colored beer, with no head. Aroma- vegetal, light hop, metal, spices. Taste-strong herbal notes, cola. Like some bizarre herbal tea. Barley comes through in the finish. Like tasting a nursery. Or a field of flowers.

330ml Bottle 18/12/2009 Floral aroma. Amber coloured a little rich and sweet on the palate with some honey flavour. Crisp and slightly dry spicy finish.

Bottled. A red-amber beer with a bubbly off-white head. The aroma has strong notes of spices - nutmeg, heather, and more, on a honey back ground. The flavor is sweet with notes of malt, caramel, honey, and spices - nutmeg, heather, and other spices I can’t pick out. The finish is dry spicy.

This was a copper colored pour from the 750 ml bottle with a medium off-white head. The nose is very sweet and quite loaded with spices. Medium body and a sticky mouthfeel. Flavor is complex with fruit, honey and nuts. The finish is spicy. Drinkable.

Bottle. Pours clear amber with a minimal head. Herbaceous and slightly nutty aroma while just a little bit woody. Lightly sour taste with medium bitterness as it finishes.

Not bad. Not great. Got a bit of pepper on the palate and some bubblegum. Interesting though.
