Drinking this much too fast. I don’t know what guarana tastes like, but I’m always glad to ingest it. Mild and a little plain all around, little caramel, nothing special. But there are herbs that provide a dry finish. Orange peel, dried leaves. Sweet, grassy, simple. Don’t get any of the herbs, probably never will. Still, should have been called speedball.

| 3.7 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 8/10 | 3/5 | 7/10 | 4/5 | 15/20 | Dec 31, 2009 Bottle, as Speed Ball. Starting off quite ordinary, pouring a clear, golden body and a small, beige head, this beer soon reveals it’s different. Peppery, hoppy nose with pinecones and caramel, but not the usual hoppy pepperyness. The flavor isn’t as pronounced as the aroma, but also nice, with the same elements, and a fine peppery, bitter finish. Medium to full body. An unusual beer, but a very nice one. 090925 blipp (1751), Newark, New Jersey, USA
| 3.5 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 7/10 | 3/5 | 7/10 | 4/5 | 14/20 | Dec 29, 2009 Bottle. Pours orange with an off white head. Sweet fruity and nutty aroma. The flavor starts sweet, with notes of nuts, toast and a light honey sweetness. Finished with toasted grains and a little floraly/herbal bitterness. Pretty good. mastabass666 (96), California, USA
| 3.5 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 6/10 | 4/5 | 7/10 | 3/5 | 15/20 | Dec 27, 2009 A deep copper colored beer, with no head. Aroma- vegetal, light hop, metal, spices. Taste-strong herbal notes, cola. Like some bizarre herbal tea. Barley comes through in the finish. Like tasting a nursery. Or a field of flowers. DJMonarch (6941), Northwich, Cheshire, England
