| 2.9 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 6/10 | 2/5 | 6/10 | 3/5 | 12/20 | May 15, 2008 Bottle. Body-hazy light gold, loose foamy white ring of bubbles. Nose-lotion, light orange, light white spices, stale weak grapefruit, hops, high CO2. Taste-a little on the sweet side, piney, OK bitter level, mint/pine on the backend, tastes like a 1.5 IPA with no soul. OK, but nothing to write home about. Ernest (4483), Boulder, Colorado, USA

Head is initially average sized, frothy, white, mostly diminishing.
Body is hazy dark yellow, unfiltered.
Aroma is lightly to moderately malty (toasted grain, bread), moderately hoppy (flowers, herbs), with notes of alcohol, pear syrup.
Flavor is heavily sweet, lightly to moderately acidic, lightly to moderately bitter.
Finish is moderately sweet, lightly to moderately acidic, moderately to heavily bitter.
Medium to full body, velvety texture, lively carbonation, lightly to moderately alcoholic.
Not much going on in the nose and very sweet, but the finishing bitterness cleans up the latter ok. Hard to drink much of it, but it’s certainly not unenjoyable. Overall not that impressed, even if not judged in the American DIPA mold. travita (1908), Frisco, Texas, USA
| 3.3 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 6/10 | 3/5 | 7/10 | 3/5 | 14/20 | May 15, 2008 Light golden in color with a light head. Smell is hops, citrus, and earthy. Taste is really hopy, bitter. A little bit like cleaning fluid. Ok but could be better. Swalden28 (1449), McKinney, Texas, USA

Poured a hazy yellow with white head, ok retention. Aroma of of bubble gum, like Wrigleys Juicy Fruit, notes of bannana and pineapple....Flavor was similar to aroma, with sweet malt flavor and a hoppy bitter. Medium carbonation and a medium-full body......not bad though. pnista (1008), Bloomington, Indiana, USA
| 3.2 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 6/10 | 3/5 | 6/10 | 4/5 | 13/20 | May 10, 2008 Thanks for sharing Chris! Pale yellow, clear with a big white head. Bigger past prime spicy Saaz style hops. Light sweetness. A bit herbal really. Creamy, a bit of viscosity with rather lower carbonation. Sweet light malt with peppery past prime hops. Again, herbal. simple. Much more like a malt-light euro strong lager! Baltica sorta territory. Crunchie (35), Somerset, England
| 3.1 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 7/10 | 3/5 | 6/10 | 3/5 | 12/20 | May 9, 2008 Was expecting a lot more after all the recent press and the tongue in cheek Stone label rip off. Good pale colour if not the most vibrant, aroma of citrus hops and a touch of tropical fruit, malt in the background and some candied sweetness. The mouthfeel was ok, carbonation lifted the slightly syrupy body and then in come the hops. Except instead of huge hop flavour I got building bitterness. Too much bitterness, especially in the finish. It just couldn’t carry it. I’m all for big beers and huge bitterness but most of the time a degree of balance is needed which wasn’t evident here, especially in the mid palate and finish. Not a bad brew and would certainly work well with spicy Indian food as there is less syrupyness than most IPAs at this gravity but still has the bitterness.
