Commercial Description:
ADMIN NOTE: Brewdog have recently changed the recipe for this beer quite significantly. We are currently considering whether this change is sufficiently drastic to warrant a new listing. In the meantime could all raters ensure that they note which version they had in their rating to facilitate a split in due course, should that de deemed necessary. Whether you had the "new" or "old" version can be determined by reference to the batch number and the best before date. The newest batch is 037 and the BBD 03/09/10 (British dating) anything before this date or batch is the old version. Newer batches will probably appear before we have this sorted out.

Filtered bottle and sometimes available as a special in the cask.
"Explicit Imperial Ale".
Ingredients: Barley, hops, yeast, water.

Pours densely apricot w/ a pancake that settles slowly w/ creamy lacing. Beautfull! Smells sweet lik barley wine. Full nectar w/ a creamy texture. This is only mildly hoppy w/ defined fresh fruit malt which is totally enjoyable. Very english. Soft and chewy, fresh and dense, candy necklace.

bottle, from ether Julio’s or Halftime, I forget.. Good aroma, sweet. Butter scotch, in a good way though. Hazy brownish orange color, small head, faded quick, no lace. Sweet bitter flavor, Al ot of caramel for a ipa, not super hoppy. Medium body, creamy oily mouthfeel, bitter dry finish. Eh, kind of confirming my feeling about Euro ipa’s, gotta be better there then here. Believe it was the most recent batch as I passed on two others form them as too close to expiration date.

Bottled 33cl. Hoppy aroma with some malt showing up. Sweet taste. Reminiscent of Great Divide Hercules Double IPA. Boring. Decent.

Nice hoppy and bittersweet brew that has a lot of notes of grapefruits and sharp bitterness. Quite good and with a floral finish. Overall impression is bitterness.

Orange colored brew. Hoppy aroma. Flavor is hoppy and fruity, malty and smooth bitterness. Could use more aggressive hops.

Sampled at Blacklick Wine and Spirits weekly tasting. This was an odd bird.Poured golden with a hefty nose of hops. Flavor was of medium bitterness, with some citrus notes but what was odd was a slight detection of cheese. This finished long, had to get some pretzels to rinse my mouth.

This is honestly a little odd. Pours orange with a little bit of white around the rim of the glass. Aroma of butter and mangos. Fruity flavor, with weak hop bite, bitter finish. Alcohol is noticeable a the end. Not sure about this one at first, but I opened up to it at the end. It’s european, for godsake. I wish this place were open when I lived in Aberdeen.
